It seems like these super-fit and super-positive social media stars are everywhere we look, on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, encouraging us to look just like them.
But a new study finds that just 50 of them collectively affect more than 700 million people worldwide.
Research conducted NFS Additions highlighted the world’s most influential fitness figures who are changing the landscape of the industry.

New research from NFS Supplements has revealed the most influential figures in the fitness world who are changing the landscape of the industry.
The brand tracked the digital influence of fitness influencers across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube through November 2023, compiling a data-driven list of the top 50 fitness influencers based on follower count and global search volumes.
The top 50 fitness influencers have amassed 707.9 million followers and generated 3.8 million searches worldwide.
Nearly half the list, 23 out of 50, is from the US, with Instagram dominating with 51% (359.4 million), followed by TikTok with 23.93% (169.4 million) and YouTube with 25.29% (179 million).
Women lead the way in 2024, with seven in the top 10 and 26 in the top 50, with 410.4 million followers (58%) and 2.26 million searches worldwide.
Male fitness influencers have fewer: 3 in the top 10 and 24 in the top 50, with a total of 297.6 million followers (42%).

The 27-year-old former teen bodybuilder turned fitness sensation boasts a total following of 38.9 million, putting her ahead of the second-place influencer by more than 10 million.

In second place with a total of 27.1 million subscribers, most of which are from TkTok and Youtube, is Chris Bumstead.
Known to fans as CBum, he is a professional bodybuilder in the Canadian IFBB Pro League who posts reviews of his workouts.
In third place is Australian fitness star Chloe Ting, best known for her workout videos on YouTube.
Her “Two Week Shred Challenge” went viral on TikTok in 2020 as many people took the opportunity to get fit without leaving home.
Some of her other popular workouts include challenges like Abs in Two Weeks and 10-Minute Workouts.
The 36-year-old from Brunei has 24.9 million subscribers on YouTube and 2.6 million on Instagram, for a total following of 28.2 million.
In second place with a total of 27.1 million subscribers, most of which are from TkTok and Youtube, is Chris Bumstead.

By number of subscribers, the top three are Sommer Ray (38.9 million), Chloe Ting (28.2 million) and Sophie Dossi (25.6 million).
The top three men based only on the following indicators are Thibault Delapart (27.9 m), Chris Bumstead (27.1 m) and David Michigan (19.3 m).
Thibault Delapart, the hottest man in the fitness industry, goes by the name Thibaut InShape – he is a French YouTuber and bodybuilder.
The study shows that although he ranks 19th in global search volume, his dominance in the men’s charts is clear, helped by his significant follower base.
Meanwhile, David Michigan is a celebrity fitness trainer who helps his followers lose weight, burn fat and build muscle.
He combines workout programs with hypnosis sessions to help people achieve their fitness goals.
Sophie Dossi, the third most popular woman in fitness, is an acrobat and aerialist who rose to fame on America’s Got Talent.
She has a following of 25.6 million people who tune in to see her “flex girl” flex tricks and workouts.
