EastEnders star Max Bowden has a lucky escape after smashing his Mercedes during three-car collision in Surrey: ‘He looked pretty stunned by the whole thing’
Max Bowden escaped with his life after being involved in a three-vehicle collision in Surrey on Friday.
The 28-year-old EastEnders actor, best known for his role as Ben Mitchell, emerged uninjured but appeared shaken after the accident in Sunbury-on-Thames, observers said.
In the photographs taken SunThe soap star left the scene without injury, despite the car’s bumper being completely destroyed.
A source told the publication: “It all happened very quickly. We just saw this car completely destroyed and then my girlfriend said, “Is that Ben Mitchell?”
“He looked pretty stunned by it all. He must have been very shocked.

The EastEnders actor, best known for his role as Ben Mitchell, managed to leave the scene unharmed and viewers said he was shaken (pictured in the show).
A Surrey Police spokeswoman said: “We were called to the scene of a three-vehicle collision in Sunbury-on-Thames on Friday.
“The collision happened at around 1.10pm near the Sunbury Cross roundabout and involved a red Mazda, a black Mercedes and a gray Kia.
“No one was injured or arrested as a result of the incident.”
It comes after Max’s ex-girlfriend Shona McGarty recently opened up about her split from Max during the British Soap Awards.
The couple split after his ex Roisin Buckle gave birth to his first child, a boy, in September last year.
The BBC soap star said the former couple called it quits after six months of dating but confirmed they were still friends.
She said Mirror: “It’s great to be here tonight because Max’s mom is here and I haven’t seen her in ages, I adore her.
“So it’s nice to talk to her. In fact, we are better than ever. It’s friendship, we’re in such a good place.
Pictures obtained by The Sun showed the soap star leaving the scene without any injuries, despite the car’s bumper being completely smashed.
It comes after Max’s ex-girlfriend Shona McGarty recently opened up about her split from Max at The British Soap Awards.
“You take risks, you do something and it doesn’t work out, but that’s life, you have to take those risks.”
Max and Shona’s romance was first reported in May 2022 after sources said the couple were “inseparable” following his split from girlfriend Roisin, and they made their relationship Instagram official in August.
However, Shauna has already moved on as she confirmed she is currently “talking to someone new” but didn’t reveal details because it’s “very early days.”
The couple split after his ex Roisin Buckle gave birth to his first child, a boy, in September last year.
