TV viewers once again had the opportunity to watch an “alternative broadcast” of the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day.
As of 2021, Nickelodeon has aired several NFL games with slime, animation, and plenty of children’s television’s signature orange blimps.
On Monday, Nickelodeon viewers could see fans in the upper deck of Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City covered in slime.
To add to the Chiefs’ woes, head coach Andy Reid was lifted from the sideline by a giant claw.
Reed, 65, was clawed up to the highest part of the stadium and his transmission was stopped without completion.
Some fans on the upper deck of Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City took a slime bath.
In the third quarter, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was lifted into the air by a giant claw.
Every time a team scored a goal, four slug cannons would fly out from the corners of the end zone.
That added more salt to the wound caused by a pair of Patrick Mahomes mistakes that led to two Raiders defensive touchdowns in a seven-second span.
Las Vegas won the game over Kansas City 20–14, denying the Chiefs a playoff spot and the AFC West crown.
The next NFL game to air on Nickelodeon will be Super Bowl LVIII.
Following the Wild Card games in the 2020 and 2021 seasons, this season’s championship will be the first Super Bowl to have an alternative network broadcast.
