Police have launched a manhunt for a suspected hit-and-run driver after a seven-year-old boy was hit and left “for dead in the middle of the road”.
The youth was killed in Folkestone, Kent, at around 5.35pm yesterday after he was hit on Sandgate Quay near the junction with Prospect Road.

A resident said: “We are truly shocked by what we saw, we have barely slept.
“It’s becoming more and more dangerous to cross this road and more people are being forced to cross it.”
Posting on Facebook about the tragedy last night, a woman – believed to be a member of the boy’s family – said: “There has been a hit-and-run on Sandgate Esplanade. A driver hit a seven-year-old boy and left him to die in the middle of the road.
