Inside the sick plot to steal the body of notorious Melbourne gangster George Marrogi’s beloved dead sister and feed it to DOGS in deranged revenge attack

The body of the jailed sister of Melbourne crime boss George Marroga was to be stolen from her crypt and fed to dogs in a savage attempt to torment the gangster behind bars.

Mechiline Marrogi, 30, died in 2021 from complications related to Covid-19.

In July, thieves donned gas masks and opened her coffin in the crypt at Preston General Cemetery, north of the city’s central business district.

Although the thieves are believed to have stolen a $100,000 diamond ring from the finger of Marroga’s dead sister, they left her corpse in disarray at the scene.

It has now emerged that the alarmed criminals were planning not only to rob Meshilin’s grave, but also to steal her body and film it being torn apart by dogs.

On Friday, police released photographs of the men they believe are responsible for the depraved crime.

CCTV footage shows thieves wearing gas masks standing at the door of the mausoleum, dressed in black sweatshirts and trousers.

Underworld sources claimed that the thieves were actually planning to steal Meshiline’s body so they could film him being attacked by dogs. Age reported.

The video was to be delivered to Marroghi and Meshiline’s body was to be dumped elsewhere to further torment his family.

The nefarious plot was thwarted only by a broken elevator.

The Marroghi clan treated Meshilin as a deity.

When she died, Marrogi was behind bars and was unable to attend her funeral.

It was believed that Méchilin, a cosmetologist by profession, was closely associated with the Marrogi group, A notorious crime family.

She was with Marrogi when he went to Highpoint Shopping Center to check which hoodie he wanted to wear during the 2016 murder of rival Kadir Ors.

Last May Marrogi was sentenced in the Supreme Court of Victoria to 32 years in prison for Ors’ murder.

Lunar Task Force Detective Inspector Graham Banks described the attack on Meshiline’s grave as a “new low”.‘.

“I’ve never seen anything like it. This is a new low, that’s for sure,” he said.

“I don’t think this will be repeated at all.

“I think that, on reflection, anyone involved would actually consider themselves a coward… every single one of them would know that what they were doing was completely outrageous.

“I think on reflection they wouldn’t have done what they did, but they didn’t have the strength of character to say no.”

Inspector Banks refused to speculate on what the thieves planned to do with Meshilin’s body if they got away with it.

“We are not clear as to the purpose for which it was taken away, but we are sure that it was meant to cause controversy and harm Meshiline’s brother George Marroghi,” he said.

The main suspect is another feared gang leader who was recently released from prison and deported.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, ran his Australian crime business from Dubai until Victoria Police unleashed a row with local authorities, forcing him to flee to a country that does not have an extradition treaty with Australia..

Inspector Banks said Marroga’s rival was actively involved in the ongoing case. an illegal tobacco war that has seen several retail outlets go up in flames in recent months.

Police have taken the unusual step of turning to the underworld in hopes of piecing together the final pieces of the investigation.

“It was no secret within the criminal community that this crime had been committed and by whom it was committed,” Inspector Banks said.

The police are still worried about what might happen to the criminals if Marroga’s henchmen catch them before they do.

“If their identities are widely known to those who oppose them, they themselves are at significant risk due to the type of crime and the anger it causes,” Inspector Banks said.
