Trump campaign attacks DeSantis as a ‘thirsty, third-rate OnlyFans wannabe model’ who only took part in ‘kiss of death’ debate with ‘grade A loser’ Gavin Newsom because he is ‘desperate for attention’
Donald Trump’s spokesman compared Ron DeSantis to an OnlyFans model in a bizarre statement released before the Florida governor took the debate stage to face California’s Gavin Newsom.
Thursday’s event, which aired on the Fox News Channel, was a hard-to-explain 90-minute showdown that pitted one embattled Republican presidential candidate against a Democratic challenger who may or may not claim the presidency in four years.
Taking this opportunity, Stephen Chung of the Trump campaign released a “spoiler alert” about how the debate would end.
“Ron will wave his arms and shake his head wildly, looking more like a drug addict from San Francisco than the governor of Florida. This is not a forecast. It’s a spoiler,” Chung said.
“Ron DeSantimonius is acting more like a thirsty third-rate OnlyFans wannabe model than a real presidential candidate,” Chung continued.

Former President Donald Trump leads Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis nationally by about 48 points. In Florida, Trump leads DeSantis by 41 points, according to a November Florida Atlantic University poll.
“Instead of campaigning and trying to turn around his dismal poll numbers, DeSanctus is now so desperate for attention that he’s debating A-list losers like Gavin Newsom,” he added.
Governors of major states sought to represent their parties on the national stage Thursday as they battled over the economy, pandemic restrictions and President Joe Biden’s leadership in a showdown peppered with bitter political disputes and personal insults.
“This is a slick, slippery politician whose state is failing,” DeSantis said of Newsom.
The California Democrat defended his state but was equally eager to shift the debate to DeSantis’ stalled 2024 presidential bid.
– How are you doing, Ron? In your home state, you lost 41 points,” said Newsom, who is backing Biden for president. “Neither of us will be the party’s candidate in 2024.”
The Fox News host called the event, hosted by Sean Hannity, the “Great Red State vs. Blue State Debate.”
However, it was held in a television studio without an audience in Georgia, a location chosen for its key implications for national politics regarding the swing state.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom predicted President Joe Biden (pictured) will become the Democratic nominee “within weeks,” saying former President Donald Trump will become the Republican nominee within the same time frame.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said during a debate with California Gov. Gavin Newsom that President Joe Biden is “in decline” and poses a “danger” to the country, while accusing Newsom of running a “shadow campaign” for the president.
And it comes at the height of the presidential primary season, as voters in both parties are paying closer attention to their 2024 options ahead of next fall’s general election.
As leaders of two of the three most populous states, DeSantis and Newsom have spent much of the past year pushing each other on policy decisions and leadership styles from afar.
But on Thursday night they had their first chance to challenge each other on the same national stage.
The two contestants, standing alone on stage at the podium, repeatedly accused each other of lying and talked over each other the entire time. And while they largely focused on political differences, the debates were at times deeply personal.
DeSantis called Newsom a “liberal bully.” Of DeSantis, Newsom said, “I don’t like the way you demean and humiliate people you disagree with.”
Hannity struggled to control what was happening. Again and again he urged men to give each other a “break.”
DeSantis, the 45-year-old Republican governor elected to his second and final term last fall, is trying to gain momentum in a 2024 campaign that has been plagued by missteps in his attempt to defeat former President Donald Trump, who remains the overwhelming favorite in the 2024 election. Republican Party Primary.
Newsom, the 56-year-old term-limited Democratic governor of California, has made it his goal to someday run for president, but like the rest of his party’s most ambitious leaders, he has declined to challenge Biden for the Democratic nomination in 2024 year.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom has said he fully supports President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign, even going so far as to tell Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, “I’d put Joe Biden 100 pounds over Ron DeSantis any day of the week at any age.” .
Instead, he became Biden’s leading advocate and official campaign adviser.
He accepted the role Thursday night after DeSantis said he was “aligning himself with Biden and (Vice President Kamala) Harris.” The Florida governor later said Biden, 81, was “in decline” and posed a “danger to the country.”
“I’m proud of the job that Biden and Harris have done,” Newsom said as he reviewed unemployment statistics. “I’ll take Joe Biden at 100 over Ron DeSantis any day of the week at any age.”
Throughout the event, the Biden campaign sent out video clips of Newsom’s speech.
And after that, Newsom launched a fundraising appeal on behalf of Biden. DeSantis’ team also continually published his own highlights, as they would during a traditional presidential debate.
