British TV star shocks fans as she manages to slip under the radar while traveling on the tube: ‘How come your fellow passengers don’t take a selfie?’
While celebrities often portray an overtly glamorous life that the public can’t hope to replicate sometimes on the rich and famous show, they’re just like us regular people.
Suranne Jones took to her Instagram on Wednesday to share a photo of herself switching luxury modes of transport to travel on the London Underground.
But her followers were stunned when the actress, 45, appeared to go completely unnoticed by her fellow passengers on the Piccadilly line.
The photo showed the Vigil star sharing a sly smile with the camera as she sat in the train carriage next to two unsuspecting male commuters.
Suranne wrapped up warmly in a black puffer jacket and carried a large handbag on her lap as she showed off her chic new bob.

She wrote: ‘The end of a long creative storylining day with @amoconnor01 and @monumentaltelevision who then invited us to a little private screening of @backtoblackuk.
‘Tube, cup and an overnight stay. News about our efforts with you soon. Perfect end to a fantastic day. Sneaky camerawork by @amoconnor01’.
But Susanne’s followers could not help but be shocked that she had managed to go unrecognized on her commute.
They commented: ‘How can you not know you’re sitting next to Suranne Jones. I had to chat. Such an opportunity you cannot miss!; I wanted to pass out completely.’
‘Don’t people know her?; I was on the same tube line a couple of times yesterday.. why couldn’t I have sat next to SJ.. dammit!!’
‘How come your fellow passengers don’t take a selfie?; Imagine sitting next to Suranne without knowing Suranne.’
While others praised the Gentleman Jack star for using the humble underground, writing: ‘So great to see such a big star doing normal things like getting a busy tube, many actors feel they don’t want to be seen and hide away; So nice to see you traveling by public transport like metro/metro/train.’

Several stars have previously surprised passengers by hopping on the tube, including Harry Styles, Rihanna, Emma Watson, Lily Allen, Jay Z, Kendall Jenner, Eddie Redmayne and Spice Girls Mel B, Mel C and Geri Horner.
Suranne’s secret new project comes after she said she is looking forward to working behind the camera in the future.
While she has many acting credits to her name from Coronation Street, to Scott & Bailey and Doctor Foster among others, she said she wants to give more attention to her career as a producer going forward.
She and her husband, former magazine editor Laurence Akers, run a production company together called TeamAkers Productions Ltd and their show Maryland is due to air on ITV this year.
In December, Suranne explained: ‘Me and my husband, we set up our production company and made Maryland and we just made our first documentary. We have just received two commissions which will go into production next year.’
Speaking about taking a step back from the limelight, she gushed: ‘I love it. I hope to eventually do projects that I’m not involved in. I can have a few teas and relax.
‘It would be good not to do everything. But I am very excited about our projects next year.’
