Donald Trump has confirmed he wants to testify at Stormy Daniel’s hush money trial, saying jury selection is about ‘luck’.

The eyes of the world will be on New York City on Monday morning when the 77-year-old becomes the first former president to face a criminal trial.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee faces 34 charges that he falsified business records to cover up a $130,000 payment to porn star Daniels for their alleged affair before the 2016 election.

Trump fielded questions about the upcoming case alongside Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson at Mar-a-Lago on Friday during a press conference on ‘election integrity’.

When asked if it was ‘risky’ for him to testify in his own defence, Trump dismissed the dangers and vowed to tell the truth.

‘I testify. I’m telling the truth. All I can do is tell the truth, the former president told reporters at Mar-a-Lago on Friday night.

“And the truth is, there is no case.”

‘It’s a scam. It’s a scam. It’s not a trail. It’s not a lawsuit. It’s a scam, he added.

He said he would testify, even as the judge declined to postpone the trial because of the huge amount of publicity surrounding the case.

Remaining defiant, he called the Manhattan trial ‘election interference’ with just four days until jury selection begins.

The process of choosing the panel of 12 New Yorkers to decide his fate is all about ‘luck’, he said, saying it was ‘unfair’ what was happening in the city.

His legal team has consistently argued that there is no way he can get a free trial because the majority of the city is Democrats.

“It depends on who you get,” he said of jury selection. “It is very unfair that I have to have a trial there. It is very unfair that we have this judge who hates Trump.

“It’s very bad for New York, and it’s very bad for the New York justice system
