EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Ellie Goulding gets pals with Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice at the Royal Albert Hall after-party as they comfort her following her break-up with Caspar Jopling – who was introduced to her by one of the royal sisters
Princess Eugenie is said to have introduced Ellie Goulding to Caspar Jopling, so who better to comfort the pop star following the breakdown of her four-year marriage to the Eton-educated art dealer?
The 34-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew and Fergie joined her sister Princess Beatrice, 35, and her brother-in-law, property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, at the party after Ellie’s concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Eugenie, who works for Hauser & Wirth gallery, knew Caspar, 32, nephew of White Cube gallery owner Jay Jopling, through her connections in the art world.
Ellie, 37, has been a royal favorite since singing at the wedding reception for Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011.

Janet is not fond of online dating
As a Blue Peter host, no challenge was beyond Janet Ellis, but now online dating is too scary for her.
Janet, 68, who was married to TV producer John Leach for 35 years until his death from lung cancer in 2020, tells me: ‘I’ve thought about dating and if the opportunity presents itself, why not? But I wouldn’t be on a dating app.’
Speaking at a party in London, she added: ‘I don’t think they’re shabby as all my kids have worn them, but in my head I’m still 29 – that’s the last time I went on a date. ‘
Her three children include Murder On The Dancefloor singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Burglary terror that inspires millionaire singer’s daughter
When Chloe Stroll married Olympic snowboarder Scotty James in a lavish wedding in Venice last year, stars including Oscar winners Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones were among the guests, as well as Sarah, Duchess of York.
Now Chloe herself wants to be a famous name.
The Canadian daughter of billionaire Aston Martin boss Lawrence Stroll made her debut as a pop singer this week with a gig at the Arts Club in Mayfair.

Chloe, 29, tells me her Australian husband, also 29, inspires her songs, including one called Run, about a burglary the couple experienced during their first night in a rented flat in London in 2021.
“Two guys walked up to our building and went into our room at 1:30 a.m.,” she says.
‘Our dog woke us up and Scotty’s first instinct was to run towards them and chase them out.
“Luckily we were okay, but it was absolutely horrible.”
Stylist Trinny Woodall shares more in common with Naomi Campbell than a love of fashion.
The former What Not To Wear presenter admits she is also obsessed with cleaning.
“I’m not Naomi Campbell, but I’m a germaphobe,” admits Trinny, 60, referring to when the supermodel shared a video of herself furiously disinfecting her airplane seat.
‘I don’t travel with a big bag of tissues and cover everything,’ adds Trinny, ‘but I do cover the seat.’
The guilty secret behind the Harry Enfield love triangle
Betraying her boyfriend Harry Enfield in the 1980s was no laughing matter for her colleague Helen Lederer.
In her recently published memoir, Not That I’m Bitter, she says her relationship with an unnamed second man left her feeling “sick” with guilt.
However, Enfield gave her his blessing to write about the love triangle, she insists.
‘He knew I wasn’t going to write anything terrible about him,’ Lederer tells me at his book’s launch party at The Groucho Club in Soho, London. “He’s a lovely person.”
Lederer, 69, was eventually forgiven by Enfield, 62, who later cast her on The Harry Enfield Show.
Finally happiness for Bowie’s girl
David Bowie’s only daughter, Alexandria, known as Lexi Jones, spoke earlier this year about the turmoil she has faced since his death eight years ago.
Now, however, I can reveal that she has found love – and peace of mind – with an American musician.

Lexi, 23, whose mother is Bowie’s widow, supermodel Iman, 68, posted this photograph online of her sitting on guitarist Grant Kessler’s lap. “Happy,” she captioned the photo.
Lexi, an artist, had said of her teenage years: ‘Growing up to be such a violent and angry person was at odds with the sweet little girl I used to be.’
When Boris Johnson made Carrie Symonds his third wife in 2021, the ceremony was held in England’s main Catholic church, Westminster Cathedral.
One of Boris’ children’s first wedding couldn’t have been more different.
I hear Lara Johnson-Wheeler, 30, has exchanged vows with Patrick Mueller, a German-born art director, at a registry office in London.
The bride, a fashion writer, wore a lime green one-shoulder top and cream skirt, while the groom wore an open-neck shirt.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester should have a spring in their step this weekend.
They have, I can reveal, finally sold Barnwell Manor in Northamptonshire, the Duke’s childhood home.
The Duke, a cousin of Queen Elizabeth, put the Tudor mansion on the market 18 months ago, seeking £4.75 million.
Last summer he cut £500,000 from the asking price – enough, it turns out, to do the trick.
(Very) modern manners
Emily Maitlis, whose interview with Prince Andrew ended her career as a royal, is not sticking around.
The 53-year-old tells the High Performance podcast: ‘I hate delays. An old boyfriend reminded me that I had a rule – if he was 15 minutes late, I’d be gone.’
If Andrew was late for his interview, he might still cut ties.
