Elizabeth Chambers reveals she is ‘protective’ of her children who have ‘no idea’ about their father Armie Hammer’s scandals

Elizabeth Chambers opens up about life after her ex-husband Armie Hammer’s various scandals, and reveals that her children have no idea about them.

The 41-year-old baker and TV personality revealed that her children – Harper, 9, and Ford, 7 – have been shielded from Hammer’s controversy.

The revelation came in a sneak peek of episode 2 of Freeform’s Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise, which airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET.

The sneak peek begins with Chambers meeting a member of her ‘small inner circle’ – Julian Foster.

When Julian asked how Armie is doing, Chambers says: ‘Things are great. My sister said it best. She said: “Every single day someone just taps you on the shoulder and reminds you of the most painful time of your life.”

“But I’m also fiercely protective of my children and that’s why we’re still here, and thank God they have no idea what’s going on,” she said.

She added: ‘My children are happy. They should think their father is a superhero, and to be fair, he has been for them. He has been the best he can be.’

Chambers added in a confessional: ‘I don’t talk negatively about him in the press, I don’t talk negatively about him to my children because nobody wants a daughter with daddy issues and nobody wants a son with daddy issues.’

“They should think their dad is a superhero,” she said as the sneak peek ended before the episode airs on Tuesday.

The new show comes years after the world was shocked by the multiple allegations of rape and cannibalism against Call Me By Your Name actor Armie, 37, in 2021.

The TV host and actor were married from May 2010 until their separation in July 2020, when the couple agreed to share custody of their daughter Harper, nine, and seven-year-old son Ford.

Now her business partner and co-star Frank Schilling has shed light on how the mother of two has managed to maintain a friendly relationship with her ex for the sake of her children.

“I’ve seen them go through that whole process,” the restaurateur explained exclusively to DailyMail.com. “For Elizabeth, it’s always been about the kids.”

Recalling a recent interaction he witnessed between the former couple, Frank said: ‘I was playing with my son in the school playground and I saw Armie and Elizabeth together.

‘I almost thought it was a girlfriend or something. Then I realized, “Oh, no it’s Armie.” They were together but not holding hands or twisting.’

He continued: ‘It was clear that they have come to an agreement where they are able to co-exist in the same area.’

The businessman, who also owns Aphrodise Sparkling Rosé, reflected that living on the island has allowed for the pair’s cordial interactions, as he continued: ‘A fun thing about the Cayman Islands is that you get to go through the whole catharsis and the whole healing process about the end of a relationship.

‘I think it’s harder to do in a big city because you have the expectations of your friends and colleagues… God forbid, you’re seen doing it and then you’re judged.’

He added: ‘Out here you can go through that process in peace. It has all the criteria to make all that healing and recovery possible. It’s a great place to raise children and have a family.’

The businessman continued: ‘The way they carry themselves here, I’ve always seen them as a family. Not as a movie star and TV host. Elizabeth just seemed like a very typical soccer mom.’
