The Grammy winner’s performance comes almost two weeks after she clarified that she has no plans to stop making music after sharing an alarming Instagram post in which she declared she was ‘quitting’ due to constant criticism .
After admitting she was ‘tired of being pulled by everyone’ over her appearance, the 35-year-old superstar hopped on social media to clarify what she meant by saying she was ‘quitting’.
In her latest video, the four-time Grammy winner appeared on camera as she told fans that she actually meant to ‘stop giving negative energy attention’.
“What I’m not going to give up is my life’s joy, which is making music that connects with people because I know I’m not alone,” the artist (born Melissa Viviane Jefferson) assured fans.
She continued: ‘In no way, shape or form am I the only person experiencing the negative voice that seems to be louder than the positive.’
The Truth Hurts hitmaker went on to say that if she gave just ‘one person the inspiration or motivation to stand up for themselves’ against negative people or comments than she did ‘more than’ she ‘could have hoped for’.
– Having said that, I will continue to move forward. I’ll keep being me. Once again I just wanted to say thanks. The love I have received means more than you know, she concluded.
Earlier this week, she told her followers that she was ‘getting tired of finding myself dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet.’
“All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than I found it,” she wrote in a statement. ”But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.”
Lizzo went on to infer that it was frustrating to ‘constantly’ be ‘up against lies’ being told about her ‘for clout and views’ and ‘being the butt of the joke every single time because of’ her looks.

“My character is being picked apart by people who don’t know me and don’t respect my name,” she concluded. ‘I didn’t sign up for this s**t. I quit.’
Her initial post about quitting came just a day after the lawyer for Lizzo’s three ex-dancers who have previously sued her for sexual harassment criticized ‘disgraceful’ President Joe Biden for letting her perform at his $25 million Radio City fundraiser on Thursday.
Last year in August, the music artist was notably sued by three of her ex-dancers – Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez – who accused her of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment.
After the lawsuit came to light, Lizzo broke her silence on Instagram, stating that the allegations were both ‘unbelievable’ and ‘outrageous.
