Wrexham striker Elliot Lee has made a hilarious request to Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney after his side secured promotion to League One.

The Welsh side secured promotion for the second consecutive season after winning the National League last year.

Phil Parkinson’s side have impressively managed to complete the feat in the following season as they secured their place in League One next season following a 6-0 win over Forest Green Rovers.

Lee opened the scoring in the 17th minute before goals from Paul Mullin, Ryan Barnett, Jack Marriott and a Ryan Innis own goal saw Wrexham move up.

Speaking after the match, Lee made a funny request to Wrexham’s owners following their promotion.

Talking to BBC Sport Wales after the win, Lee said: ‘I don’t know if they’ve messaged anyone yet.

“We usually get a message from Ryan after a game so I’m sure he’ll message soon enough – they both will, to be fair.”

He went on to reveal that the players are ready for a trip to Las Vegas.

“We just asked them to fire up the jet to Vegas!” joked Lee.

This comes after Reynolds and McElhenney flew the Wrexham squad to Las Vegas following their promotion from the National League next season.

It remains to be seen whether the troupe will return to America this summer, but it’s clear Lee wants the Hollywood stars to make it an annual event.

Wrexham will be hoping to make it three consecutive promotions by this time next year as they continue their upward trend.

We may see the Welsh side in England’s second tier sooner rather than later as the Hollywood owners will no doubt continue to invest.
