Liverpool failed to keep a clean sheet at Anfield again as they conceded for the ninth consecutive home league game.
The Reds face Crystal Palace in a crunch clash as they battle for the Premier League title.
However, the game got off to the worst possible start for Jurgen Klopp’s team when Eberechi Eze slotted in unmarked after just 14 minutes.
It means Liverpool are on their joint longest run at home without a clean sheet in the competition, equaling a stretch of nine games in December 1996 and May 1999.

And Reds supporters were left fuming at their dreadful defensive record, which comes after they were hammered 3-0 by Atalanta at Anfield on Thursday.
One said: ‘Liverpool play a game without challenging. Impossible mission.’
Another added: ‘Can never be my club. Anfield no longer resonates,” before a further fan said: “Klopp’s disbelieving ‘wow’ says it all. Crazy defending from Liverpool.’
Another fan went on to say: ‘Really so sick and tired of Liverpool starting slow and conceding first’, before a further frustrated supporter expressed their annoyance at Liverpool’s record saying: ‘Definitely not surprised in the slightest.’
One final angry supporter said: ‘Liverpool are running out of steam.’
The Reds have kept just three clean sheets in their last 19 games in all competitions, which comes at a time when title rivals Arsenal.

Definitely defensively, Arteta has four centre-backs at the back. It seems to have stabilized the team. They didn’t expect what happened last season. This year, Arteta knows they are ready. I remember the pressure, sometimes the audience gets a bit anxious. If Liverpool win, it puts a bit more pressure on Arsenal. Can Liverpool get three points today?
Merson: Arsenal have not been behind since the turn of the year. City just keep playing, they have so much faith in their abilities.
