Houston Rockets center Boban Marjanovic intentionally missed a free throw while his team was about to send Los Angeles Clippers fans home with free chicken in the final game of the regular season.

With the Rockets up 105-97, Marjanovic stepped to the line and missed his first free throw.

That got Clippers fans on their feet – as another missed free kick would mean they’d win free chicken as part of a promotion.

Marjanovic, a former Clipper himself, recognized what was going on and began hyping up the crowd by pointing at himself.

Up he went for his second free throw – which clattered off the iron for a miss.

As the crowd roared its approval, Marjanovic pointed to the sky – apparently an admission that he had done it on purpose.

The Rockets broadcast lost its mind and one of the broadcasters screamed: ‘Ah! He gave them chicken! He is a man of the people! He gave free chicken!’

There wasn’t much for the Rockets to play for, other than avoiding a losing season with a win – as the team had long since been eliminated from the playoffs.

But they got that win by a score of 116-105 to finish 41-41 this season.

As for the Clippers, they are the four seed in the Western Conference playoffs with a 51-31 record. They will play the five seed Dallas Mavericks in the playoffs.
