A Texas mother is accused of leaving her two young children home alone for six days while she partied on a cruise in Puerto Rico.

Lakesha Woods Williams, 29, was arrested after police responded to a welfare check at her apartment in a luxury high-rise in Houston on Tuesday.

Officials say they found Williams’ eight-year-old son and six-year-old daughter in the home unattended — nearly a week after Williams flew to Miami on April 4.

The home smelled of urine and had trash and food scraps thrown everywhere, KTRK reported.

The children reportedly told police that their mother had gone on a trip and they did not know when she would return.

They added that Williams used a webcam and cellphone to check in on them, according to the police report.

Court records say police tried to contact Williams, but she was uncooperative and kept changing her whereabouts.

Williams returned from the trip on April 10 and was arrested the following day.

Neighbors told police they saw Williams leave with luggage on April 4 — and it’s not the first time something like this has happened, as reported by KHOU.

The children were determined to be healthy and released to their aunt.

“We are still piecing together the facts and circumstances of how these children were left alone for several days,” said Ted Heap of the Harris County Constable’s Office.

“But the important thing is that they are safe now and those responsible should be held accountable for leaving these children in an unsafe situation.”
