Dele Alli claimed Chelsea players ‘showed their age’ when they argued over who should take a penalty in Monday’s 6-0 thrashing of Everton.
Three Blues stars were involved in a shoving contest when Noni Madueke was brought down in the penalty area and a debate broke out over who should take the resulting spot kick.
Madueke and Nicolas Jackson were then involved in a heated exchange as they began pushing each other, forcing Conor Gallagher and Malo Gusto to break up the public altercation at Stamford Bridge.
Cole Palmer eventually latched onto the ball and rose to smash a strike past Everton and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to score his fourth goal of the game.
Injured Everton star Alli provided analysis on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football as he offered an honest verdict on the unruly behavior displayed by the Chelsea stars.

“This to me is them showing their age,” Alli said as he gave his analysis of the embarrassing actions of the Blues players involved.
‘I’m not there on the training ground every day or know who the designated penalty taker is.
“As far as I know in the last big game where the pressure was on at the last minute, I didn’t see them all struggling to make it,” he added.
Pochettino later admitted after the match that he would punish Chelsea players who step out of line in such a manner again.
Alli offered some heartfelt advice to rival strikers as he watched Everton slump to a disappointing defeat at Stamford Bridge, continuing: ‘It’s OK when it’s 4-0 and you want to get on the scoresheet. If you want to get on the scoresheet, don’t do it when it’s 4-0 in a non-pressured situation.
“It’s a shame as they had a fantastic night and people are talking about this rather than their fantastic performance,” he said.
Jamie Carragher echoed similar criticism of Chelsea players, branding them ‘stupid’ for disputing who should be penalised.
‘It’s stupid, I mean, come on boys. Pochettino will be asked about this after the game.
‘They’ve just won 6-0 and it’s their best result of the season, a great night for everyone.’
