Noni Madueke snatches the ball away and tackles Nicolas Jackson before Chelsea’s penalty kick erupts as new extended footage emerges as Cole Palmer lay on the floor
New footage of Chelsea’s latest penalty shootout shows Noni Madueke snapping the ball and giving Nicolas Jackson a slap – before Cole Palmer pulls in to score it.
The embarrassing moment, in the 64th minute of Chelsea’s 6-0 thrashing of Everton on Monday night, infuriated manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The new camera angle of the incident, shown on Sky Sports, shows the immediate aftermath of James Tarkowski’s foul on Palmer to concede the penalty.
Malo Gusto has the ball in his hands, only for both Madueke and Jackson to run over and both try to wrestle the ball from his grasp.
Madueke manages to grab the ball and then turns his back on the protesting Jackson to prevent him from getting it.

The pair continue to argue as Madueke drives the ball towards the penalty spot, with Gusto trying to calm Jackson down as they shout at each other.
The experienced Thiago Silva then gets involved and puts his arm around the shoulders of both players in an attempt to quell the altercation.
But they continue to argue until Jackson finally gives up and walks away.
At that point, Palmer rises from the turf after the foul, walks over to Madueke and reminds him that he is the designated penalty taker as he is backed up by captain Conor Gallagher.
Madueke lays the ball off but to Gallagher instead of Palmer before Jackson gets involved again, only to be pushed away by Palmer after he finally gets the ball.
It is then left to Gallagher to send off Jackson and Madueke from the penalty area so that Palmer can actually take the kick which he put past Jordan Pickford for his fourth goal of the night.
The unbuildable streak overshadowed one of Chelsea’s best wins of the season and led to an exasperated Pochettino making it clear afterwards that Palmer is the club’s designated spot-kick taker.
Palmer’s four-goal haul at Stamford Bridge took him to 20 Premier League goals for the season, level in the Golden Boot race with his former Manchester City team-mate Erling Haaland.

Nine of those 20 goals have come from the penalty spot as Palmer emerged as Chelsea’s most reliable player.
Pochettino said in his press conference: ‘First of all I want to tell you to make it clear that they know, the players know, the staff know, the club knows that the penalty taker is Cole Palmer.
‘It’s a shame. I am so, so sorry about this situation. We’re talking in the locker room about the image we’re sending because it’s Monday Night Football and in every single country they were watching the game.
‘We cannot send these types of images. It’s a shame and I want to apologize to football people and our fans because it’s unacceptable.’
Pochettino went on to say that Madueke and Jackson would be ‘out’ if they behaved like that again.
‘I told them this is the last time I will accept this type of behaviour. They are all involved in this situation, all out next time, he told Sky Sports.
‘This is not a joke. It’s impossible after a performance like this.
‘It shows that we are in a process where we will learn a lot, we have to change and look more in the collective way than thinking about individual performance.’
England international Palmer confirmed he is now officially Chelsea’s No.1 penalty taker in a post-match interview on NBC Sports.
Palmer eventually pushed his teammates away to take the penalty, which he duly converted
‘Everyone wants to score, especially the strikers. It’s nothing we’ve talked about, we’ve brushed it under the rug,” Palmer began.
‘I think it just shows the mentality of the players, they will take it, but the gaffer has told us it has been brushed aside and I’m sure it won’t happen again.’
Pressed on whether he was Chelsea’s first-choice penalty taker, Palmer replied: ‘Well, I am now, yes.’
Palmer added: ‘Other players would take it, which was understandable. I am the penalty taker and wanted to take it.
‘We’re just trying to show everyone that we want to take responsibility. Maybe that was over the top, the argument. We laughed and joked about it.’
Dele Alli, who was a guest pundit on Sky’s Monday Night Football, said the struggling players were ‘showing their age’ across the board.
Injured Everton star Alli commented on the spot-kick incident during his MNF debut for Sky
“This for me is them showing their age,” Alli said as he gave his analysis of the incident.
‘I’m not there on the training ground every day or know who the designated penalty taker is.
“As far as I know in the last big game where the pressure was on in the last minute, I didn’t see them all struggling to make it,” he added.
Alli then offered some heartfelt advice to the rival strikers as he watched Everton slump to a disappointing defeat at Stamford Bridge, continuing: ‘It’s okay when it’s 4-0 and you want to get on the scoresheet. If you want to get on the scoresheet, don’t do it when it’s 4-0 in a non-pressured situation.
“It’s a shame as they had a fantastic night and people are talking about this rather than their fantastic performance,” he said.
