Cheryl spars with her Girls Aloud bandmates live on Radio 2, while hilarious video shows Scott Mills struggling to regain control of the chaotic interview
Girls Aloud have insisted they ‘don’t do disagreements, just differences of opinion’, but things got hilariously heated during a recent radio interview.
Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts appeared on Scott Mills’ Radio 2 show on Monday as talk turned to their upcoming reunion tour.
A video posted on BBC Radio 2’s Instagram page showed the interview descending into chaos after Scott innocently asked the band if they want to perform some new covers on the tour.
Nicola was the first to respond, insisting ‘I don’t think we have room’, only for Cheryl to tell Scott ‘I’ve said it several times, people like it!’

However, Nadine was in the opposite camp and interrupted to say: ‘I was dead against it. I’m like we have as many Girls Aloud songs as our own. Why do we have to do that?’
‘But we can only add a random cover, it’s fun!’ Cheryl fought back.
Scott hysterically told the listeners: ‘You’re in because there’s a bit of a disagreement with Girls Aloud between whether they should do covers or just hits. We’ll be back after this…’
The video then picked up as the girls continued to talk over each other, with Scott explaining: ‘Girls Aloud are here and they’re still debating whether to do a cover version or just their hits. Have we reached an agreement yet?’
An agitated Cheryl continued: ‘I’m not saying we shouldn’t do anything’ before pleading ‘guys’ when she was interrupted again.
Mediation Scott told Cheryl to speak, who explained ‘I think we should do everything and… for three more minutes’.
‘But how long is the show? Five hours?’ Scott pointed out causing Nadine to declare ‘exactly!’
“We’re going to have to raise our hand again,” Scott said.

The band have been sharing their own funny memes and videos to promote their tour, with their latest post on Monday poking fun at their repeated insistence that they would never get back together.
The group recreated a viral meme from the 2019 Golden Globe Awards when Lady Gaga was shown how her red carpet dress looked eerily similar to a look by Judy Garland in Star Is Born.
The post was captioned with an earlier quote from Cheryl, who said: “There will be no reunion though.”
She then mimed the words, ‘Oh look… you know what? I don’t… I… we didn’t say that, no, but it looks an awful lot like that, doesn’t it?’ while her bandmates looked around awkwardly.
The post was captioned: ‘So… yeah, anyway… See you at #TheGirlsAloudShow next month.’

Cheryl had first ruled out the prospect of a Girls Aloud reunion while the group were still together, uttering the quote in their Off The Record documentaries in 2006.
She said: ”There will be no reunions, can you imagine a 30-year-old singing I’m just a Love Machine?’
Girls Aloud kick off their reunion tour next month after confirming rumors they were reuniting last year, marking 21 years since they formed.
When announcing the tour in November, the four revealed that the group has not recorded new music, but simply wants to celebrate their back catalogue.

Cheryl revealed they had been discussing the plans for some time, but put the idea on hold when Sarah Harding – who died in September 2021 – was diagnosed with cancer.
She said in a statement: ‘We all started talking about the possibility of doing something to celebrate Girls Aloud’s 20th anniversary a few years ago. The anniversary seemed like an obvious thing that we wanted to celebrate.
‘But when Sarah fell ill, all priorities changed. She died a year before the anniversary and it just didn’t feel right, it felt too soon.’
The group plan to use the trip to ‘celebrate’ their late friend.
