MAGA’s message to Washington is to get a grip: Trump fans, fed up with the dysfunction and lack of leadership, tell the embattled administration chief to pull together and unite in a VERY important year

Republican voters say they are frustrated by the dysfunction of their current GOP lawmakers in Washington as they rally behind Donald Trump’s bid to return to the White House.

The disapproval comes as House Speaker Mike Johnson faces one of the toughest weeks of his short tenure in the leadership to date, amid mounting pressure to provide foreign aid that could also see him fired.

In the battleground state of Pennsylvania, Trump supporters told DailyMail.com they want Republicans to move their partisan bickering behind closed doors as they face a tough election season this fall.

“I wish the Republicans would come together and at least put up a united front for the public,” said Courtney Bracken, 46. “I think it’s really important in an election season that at least the optics appears as we are united .’

She continued that she doesn’t care ‘if they fight in the back room’.

Trump fan Michael Mann, 61, said Republicans in Washington are ‘a mess’.

‘I think they need to get their act together. They are very disorganized. It’s time they get it together instead of trying to be on an ego trip,’ Mann said.

Johnson has faced a series of humiliating defeats since being elected to the leadership.

Last week, he dealt another blow from his own hardliners, who rebelled and blocked a procedural vote to move forward with the reauthorization of the controversial Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

It was just the latest in a series of procedural hurdles in which Johnson has come up short with an unwieldy caucus.

‘I like Mike Johnson, I really do. I know some of the MAGAs don’t like him, but I think he’s a good guy for the job,’ said Paul Sayre, 66, from the excited speaker.

‘This has gone too far. He does a great job,’ Stephanie Colofa said. 50.

But other Republicans who support Trump want to see a bigger shake-up in Washington come November.

“I think our government in general needs a reset,” said Matthew Onuschak, 44.

“I think the leadership on both sides is — I shouldn’t say leadership because there isn’t any,” he said.

Johnson and Trump met on Friday at Mar-a-Lago, where they stood together for a press conference.

The joint performance comes when rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., has started the process to remove Johnson and has warned him against putting the Senate foreign aid package up for a vote.

‘We get along very well with the speaker,’ Trump said in response to a question about whether he would dislike the proposal to vacate to stand behind Johnson. Trump said he’s getting along with Greene, too.

‘We have a loudspeaker. He was voted in. It was a complicated process and I think it is not an easy situation for any speaker. I think he’s doing a very good job,” Trump said as Johnson stood next to him.

“He’s doing about as well as you’re going to do,” Trump said. Trump claimed that Greene ‘has a lot of respect for the speaker.’

Later, Trump said that it is unfortunate that the motion to withdraw is being raised because the United States has ‘much bigger problems’.

Speaker Johnson told Fox News on Sunday that he and the former president ‘are 100 percent in agreement on these major agenda items.’
