Michael Douglas jokes he and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones BRIBE their kids with ‘lavish’ holidays so they can spend time together: ‘We have great trips!’
Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, 54, are empty nesters after their two children became adults.
This week, the Oscar-winning actor joked that the only time they would see Dylan and Carys was to offer them lavish vacations.
The actor, 79, said so Today Tuesday that their plan is working.
“Catherine and I are blessed that our children Dylan and Carys still enjoy traveling with us,” Douglas shared.
‘And then we’ve just finished five weeks in India at Christmas time. And we always plan next year what our trips will be and where we’re going.’
“It’s just a treat,” the Franklin star replied when asked if it’s nice to spend time with his kids.

Especially when you don’t force them. I said, “Catherine, look, they actually want to hang out with us.” I said, “You know, it’s good.”
“But we have good trips,” Douglas joked. ‘We seduce them with good places to go.’
The family was last seen attending a wedding in Palm Springs, California together.
Before that they were in India. In August they traveled to Capri and stayed on a yacht.
He also has son Cameron, 45, with ex-wife Diandra Luker.
In 2022, Zeta-Jones told People that her family is happy
“Both my daughter and Dylan have been so incredibly supportive of me, not just as an actor, but just me, you know. I’m very blessed to have both of them in my life,” she said.
Michael and Catherine were married in New York City in the year 2000.

This comes after Douglas was shocked to discover he is related to Scarlett Johansson.
The Wall Street star appeared on the PBS series Finding Your Roots to delve into his ancestry, and was stunned to learn that the ‘Black Widow’ star – who he appeared alongside in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame – is his ‘DNA cousin’.
Breaking the news on the show, Michael said: ‘Are you kidding me? Oh, that’s great. Okay. This is cool. It’s so cool.’

Finding Your Roots host Henry Louis Gates Jr. delivered the news to Michael, telling him that he and the 39-year-old actress ‘share identical strands of DNA on four different chromosomes’.
Henry said the strands of DNA ‘appear on Scarlett’s maternal lines, which stretch back to Jewish communities in Eastern Europe’.
Michael admitted it was ‘incredible’ to find out he and Scarlett were related and he is ‘looking forward’ to seeing her again.
