Actress Andrea Faye Friedman has died at the age of 53 due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
Friedman’s father Hal Friedman spoke about her death The newspaper “New York Times, told the publication that his daughter had been unable to speak for the past year due to an illness.
She died last Sunday at her residence in Santa Monica, California.
Friedman, who had Down syndrome, played Amanda Swanson on Life Goes On from 1992 to 1993.
During her acting career, the actress played characters with developmental disabilities. Speaking to The Times, her father said his daughter referred to her Down syndrome as “up syndrome.”
