Blake Shelton said his New Year’s resolution is to become sober.

The 47-year-old country music star, who is married to Gwen Stefani, 54, said he wants to “reduce or stop” his drinking in 2024.

Talking to Entertainment tonightThe star said: “I haven’t managed to stop drinking yet.

“Even the layoff was difficult. I mean this is a resolution. And I’ll say it again right now – this is my New Year’s resolution. Either reduce your alcohol consumption or give it up altogether. Let’s just say I said it.

The star also opened up about her low-key New Year’s Eve plans with Stefani, saying: “If we’re home on New Year’s Eve, we’ll probably go to bed before it even happens.”

WITHHelton recently opened up about their first meeting when Stefani was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Oct. 19.

He said that when he met her on The Voice, she was surrounded by children, and humorously joked: “It was chaos.”

HOURBut Shelton said the No Doubt singer, who recently called her marriage an “amazing gift,” amazed him with her devotion to her family.

“I first met Gwen in 2014,” Shelton said at the ceremony, according to the report Today show. “She was unlike any famous person I had ever met. She drove to work in a black minivan with car seats.”

The country singer also said that her sons’ presence scared many people on set.

“She didn’t show up with security.” She came with a baby and two little boys, which acted as security at the time because no one was coming near,” he said.

Stefani has sons with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, to whom she was married from 2002 to 2016.

Shelton then noted that Stefani’s affection for her children greatly impressed him during their first meeting.

“It was clear to me that she was a mother above all else—that was her number one job,” he said.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the star said: “I haven’t managed to stop drinking yet. “Even the layoff was difficult. I mean this is a resolution. And I’ll say it again right now – this is my New Year’s resolution.”

Shelton went on to talk about how he has been consistently impressed by his wife’s accomplishments since they met.

“She rose to the top time and time again with her unique style that made the world fall in love with her – just not as much as I did,” he said.

Stephanie became visibly emotional during her husband’s speech and lovingly called him her “best friend.”

She then said to her husband, “You have given me such love as I have never known before. The minute I met you, I knew I was home and I was so, so proud that you were mine. I can not believe this. I love you so much.’

The singer and her husband began dating in November 2015 and tied the knot in a wedding ceremony at his ranch in Oklahoma in July 2021.

Shelton was married to Kaynette Gern from 2003 to 2006 and to Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015.

Stefani and her husband collaborated on music several times during their relationship.
