British tourist, 29, is raped at a spa resort in Milan

A British tourist has been raped at a spa resort in Milan.

The woman, 29, was sexually assaulted by a man, believed to be 25, at the Porta Romana spa in the center of the Italian city, according to local media.

The English tourist said the man approached her in the spa as she was relaxing with a friend. They allegedly knew each other and had consumed alcohol together.

After inviting her to follow him into the men’s locker room, the suspect became violent and raped her on Monday night around 10 p.m., reports Italian newspaper Il Giorno.

She reportedly screamed for help and attracted her friend’s attention, prompting the man to flee.

Italian Carabinieri police officers are searching for the suspected rapist after the Briton reported the assault at around 11pm.

He is said to be tattooed, about 25 years old and Italian.

The police hope to identify the man by reviewing footage from surveillance cameras in the area.
