A seven-year-old boy is among four people injured when a car crashed into a restaurant in Adelaide’s eastern suburbs.
ADELAIDE – A car has crashed into a restaurant in Adelaide’s eastern suburbs, injuring four people.
The incident happened just before 8pm on Saturday at the Euro Pizza and Restaurant on Kensington Road, Wattle Park.
A seven-year-old boy was among those injured. He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Three other people – a 54-year-old man, a 44-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman – were also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the car, a 42-year-old woman from Rosslyn Park, was not injured.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
Eyewitness reports
Restaurant worker Milan Grasselli, 16, saw the silver car drive up the footpath and hit diners outside, including a child.
“I was just standing there and I saw the car come up the footpath and hit the people,” he said.
“I was just shocked. I didn’t know what to do.”
Mr Grasselli said he ran to help the injured people.
“I just tried to help the people who were injured,” he said.
“I was just trying to do whatever I could.”
Police statement
In a statement, police said:
“Police are investigating a crash in Wattle Park this evening that has injured four people.
“A car has crashed into a restaurant on Kensington Road, injuring four people.
“The injured people have been taken to hospital.
“Police are investigating the cause of the crash.”
