The sixth and final season of the popular martial arts comedy-drama series Cobra Kai is currently being shot in Atlanta, Georgia.
And while fans will be sad to see the show end after this final batch of new episodes, they can take solace in hearing one of the stars call it the ‘biggest season’ yet.
Tanner Buchanan, who has played Robbie Keene during its run from YouTube Red/YouTube Premium to Netflix, used these words to describe the show’s final run during an appearance on the iHeart podcast, I’ve never said this before with Tommy DiDario.
“We’re working,” Buchanan, 25, confirmed with a laugh. ‘This season, so far, is, it’s a lot! We are all working harder than we ever have. It takes a lot this season and everyone really puts in, not even 110%, we all put in 200%.’
The actor went on to give a few more details, which include calling the final season ‘a crazy, wild ride.’
Tanner Buchanan, 25, spoke volumes as he teased the ongoing filming for the sixth and final season of hit Netflix series Cobra Kai, calling it a ‘wild, crazy ride’
“I know we say it every year, ‘Oh, this season is going to be bigger and badder than every season,’ this season is really going to be the biggest season,” Buchanan said with conviction.
‘There is so much to do. It’s going to be a lot,’ he continued, adding: ‘It’s going to be a crazy, wild ride and I think it’s going to make everyone really, really, really happy.’
He added: ‘It’s a lot of heating pads and epsom salt baths and icing stuff and Advil’ regarding the toll all this hard work takes on the body.
Ralph Macchio, 62, and William Zabka, 58, are also back to reprise their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, respectively, from the last season.
The main cast also includes the likes of Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni DeCenzo, Martin Kove, Peyton List, Vanessa Rubio, Thomas Ian Griffith and Dallas Dupree Young.
Netflix kicked off the promotional push for season six with a video teasing the start of production for the finale, which dropped in early February.
The video begins with Macchio saying, “Hello, Cobra Kai fans…” as Zabka continues, “The wait is over,” in a likely reference to writer and actor strikes that delayed production.
Jacob Bertrand (Eli ‘Hawk’ Moskowitz) said he was, ‘Super excited to get back to filming’, while Gianni Decenzo (Demitri) exclaimed: ‘Season six!’

It ends with Macchio offering a ‘Big thank you,’ to which List says, ‘Thank you so much for watching,’ while Rubio adds, ‘We have the best fans in the world.’
The video ends with several of the cast saying, “See you at the dojo.”
The series reimagines the ‘Miyagi-verse’ narrative from Johnny’s point of view, beginning with his decision to reopen the Cobra Kai karate dojo, and the revival of his old rivalry with Daniel.
A sequel to the original hit film The Karate Kid (1984), Cobra Kai first landed on YouTube Red/YouTube Premium for its first two seasons beginning in 2018 before moving to Netflix starting with the third season.
