Comedian Neel Nanda dead at 32: Matt Rife and Dane Cook lead tributes remembering the beloved stand-up who worked on Comedy Central

Comedian Neil Nanda has reportedly died at the age of 32.

His death was reported by a number of comedy clubs, including Comedy Castle And Port Comedy Clubalthough not many details are known at this time.

His television credits include Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Adam Devine’s Party on Comedy Central. He is survived by his father, mother and sister.

Following the news of his tragic passing, fellow comics Matt Rife and Dane Cook took to social media to spearhead a slew of heartwarming tributes to their late friend.

“Rest in peace Neil Nanda,” Rife tweeted on X. “You were one of the nicest, hardest working comedians I’ve ever called friend.”

Next to a bandaged heart emoji, he added, “I hope you can stay calm brother.”

Cook also wrote a touching tribute, although he noted that he “did not know Neil Nanda personally.”

Despite this, he reached out to X and wrote that he had read “several tributes”, adding that the sad news was “both heartbreaking and eye-opening”.

“I share the opinion of many that there is help,” he wrote, addressing his 2.6 million followers.

“Please remember that you are never alone,” he continued. “People want to help you. There is a way through your pain.

“Prayers to Neil’s family, friends and fans,” he wrote, before urging those going through difficult times to seek help and share the suicide and crisis helpline number.

Content creator Nick Kaufman also wrote a lengthy tribute, recalling that Nanda was a “truly nice guy” and a “really funny comedian.”

German comedian Mario Adrion shared a photo from his show on Instagram last week.

Fellow comic Adam Newman shared a group photo with Nanda, writing a caption about his generosity and saying his passing is “truly a huge loss for the comedian and everyone who knew him.”

Many of Nanda’s childhood friends also took to social media to share throwback pictures and their fond memories of their favorite comedian.

He wrote that he only met Nanda this year, but “he brought a lot of light and positivity into my life in the short time I spent with him.”

One of his close friends, Spencer Breslin, also wrote a tribute, calling Nanda “truly one of the funniest people I’ve ever known.”

Producer Bryan Callen also took to Instagram to post about their longtime friendship and revealed that they had recently been talking about a project for the new year.

Filmmaker Jacob Sirof also shared an Instagram post about meeting Nanda in 2014 and recalled one of his most memorable performances with an entertaining audience.

Nanda just celebrated his birthday earlier this month with a weekend of comedy shows.

He first began his career in comedy in his hometown of Alpharetta, Georgia and then moved to southern California.

His weekly live show Unnecessary Evil at the Westside Comedy Theater in Los Angeles was named one of the top 10 comedy shows in the city by LA Weekly.

He also worked on Hulu’s “Coming to the Stage” and Viceland’s “Bunkhouse.”

Back in 2018, while preparing to kick off the Outsourced Comedy Tour, he recalled his proudest moment.

“I would say my biggest accomplishment in comedy to date is performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” he said. VK reporter.

“I’ve always wanted to do a late night show, and Jimmy Kimmel was my first choice.”

He explained that although he had worked for some impressive TV networks in the past, this “blows me away” as the show was “the first place I’ve performed where my parents were fans of the host.”

Nanda was born in Atlanta to parents who immigrated from India after an arranged marriage.

He told the publication that he had been interested in comedy since childhood.

He remembered watching Comedy Central in middle school and writing down his favorite jokes in a notebook so he could later memorize them and recite them in school.
