Dakota Johnson signs with top Hollywood agent Maha Dakhil who resigned from the board at CAA after accusing Israel of genocide – as the actress remains SILENT on the conflict

Dakota Johnson has signed with an A-list Hollywood agent who has resigned from her position on the board of Creative Artists Agency after sharing a post accusing Israel of genocide, DailyMail.com reports.

Maha Dakhil, 48, resigned from her position on the CAA’s internal council after sharing an inflammatory post on her Instagram story amid the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The message, originally posted on an account called “FreePalestine”, said: “You will find out who supports genocide,” in reference to the Hamas attack on October 7.

Dakhil resigned from her post as co-head of film division at CAA, apologizing for her actions.

But Johnson became the first senior person appointed to Dakhil, who is half Libyan, since the scandal became public.

The actress signed with the agency in November and CAA will represent her across all fronts, including her production company, TeaTime Pictures.

Johnson has remained silent regarding his personal views on the conflict between Israel and Hamas, and Dakhil has continued to work with his other clients in the wake of the controversy.

She has worked with stars such as Tom Cruise, Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman, who is Jewish.

In addition to reposting criticism of Israel, Dakhil wrote: “This is my line. What could be more heartbreaking than witnessing genocide? To witness the denial of the fact of genocide.”

Dakhil reportedly tried to arrange a meeting with some of her Jewish colleagues to give further explanations and apologize, but some of the colleagues were so furious that they refused to attend.

She deleted the posts shortly after they were published and apologized in a statement to Variety, saying: “I made the mistake of reposting on my Instagram story that used offensive language. Like many of us, I was shaking with grief. I am proud to be on the side of humanity and peace.

“I am so grateful to Jewish friends and colleagues who pointed out the consequences and educated me further. I immediately deleted the repost. I’m sorry for the pain I caused.”

Dakhil continues to represent several celebrities, including Natalie Portman, who is Jewish.

But the messages spread throughout the Hollywood community, Variety reported, and many of her CAA colleagues were reportedly “hurt and saddened.”

Dakhil responded to her comments on Instagram, writing: “Choice of words is important. Dialogue heals. With each painful day, I listen and learn more from my friends. Thank you.

“I pray for all our families… I grieve for everyone who is suffering right now. I continue to mourn all the innocent lives. My mission is peace.”

Dakhil also works as an agent for Madonna, Anne Hathaway and Steven Spielberg and is signed to former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground production company.

CAA, perhaps the most powerful agency in Hollywood, issued its own statement in support of Israel following the October 7 attacks.

The company said it “stands with the people of Israel, the Jewish community and all innocent victims in the face of horrific terrorist attacks.” Our thoughts are with you for those who have relatives, friends or loved ones living in or connected to Israel and the region. We wish peace to all people.”
