Daylesford crash: Driver charged over collision that killed five after SUV ploughed into a pub beer garden

A driver has been charged in a crash that killed five members of two young families after an SUV drove through a crowded pub.

A 66-year-old Mt Macedonia man has been charged following the fatal crash in Daylesford, northwest of Melbourne, on November 5.

The boy, 11-year-old Vihan Bhatia, was killed along with his father Vivek, 38, and family friends Pratibha Sharma, 44, Jatin Chugh, 30, and Ms Sharma’s daughter Anvi, nine.

The 66-year-old will appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court via video link on Monday.
