Late. John Fetterman (D-Penn.) said President Joe Biden continues to “pander” to the far “fringe” of the Democratic Party when it comes to support for Israel.

The administration has begun scaling back support for Israeli counterattacks against Hamas terrorists operating out of Gaza after thousands of Palestinians and many aid workers have been caught in the war’s crosshairs.

In addition, the president and his national security team have said the United States will not engage in counterstrikes against Iran after it joined proxies in sending 300 missiles and drones against Israel since Saturday in a coordinated attack.

The latest string of strikes over the weekend, Fetterman told CNN host Jake Tapper on Sunday, proves how dangerous it is for the United States to waver in its support for its ally Israel.

He said the attack ‘demonstrates how astonishing it is that we are not standing firm with Israel and that there should never be any kind of conditions on any of that.’

“When a nation can launch hundreds of drones at Israel and I’m not going to talk about the conditions — ever,” the Pennsylvania Democrat said.

He added: ‘I don’t agree with the president. It doesn’t change anything – that he’s a great president and I’m proud to stand with him and campaign with him and vote for him.’

Many anti-Israel Democrats have launched protests in recent months against Biden’s support for Israel after Hamas terrorists attacked the Jewish nation in October. This has pushed the administration to distance support and has resulted in a careful balancing act for the president up for re-election in November.

“The president is entitled to his own views and whatever he decides to do,” Fetterman said. ‘But I would never capitulate to the fringes. I will never settle for that either. In fact, it helps, it strengthens Hamas.’

He said Hamas is ‘convinced they are winning the PR war’ because Biden has wavered on his previously unwavering support for Israel.

“They’re never going to negotiate at this point,” the senator speculated. ‘They think they will last until the very end.’

“I don’t know why there isn’t more of that conversation in the media. What about the hostages?’ he asked.

Despite the wave of attacks on Saturday night, the vast majority were intercepted and shot down before they even reached Israeli airspace – further exhibiting the superior technology and military capabilities of the Jewish state and its hostile neighbors.

Fetterman said Iran just wanted “some fireworks” by attacking this weekend in retaliation for an IDF drone strike in early April in Syria that left 12 Iranians dead, including two top generals.

“Iran had to have some fireworks after Israel smoked the Iranian general — and I’m here for it,” Fetterman said. ‘And I think it’s just a matter of theatre.’

The attack by Iran, he added, ‘demonstrates how unstable things are and why we need to lean in and stand with Israel.’
