The hashtag #ageingfilter has received more than 14 million views as more people get involved in the trend and share their results.

Using a filter, she wrote: “Dermatologist here.” This filter is designed to combat facial aging (deepening tear troughs, more visible smile lines, drooping around the mouth, increased pigmentation).

Adding the caption: “As we age, we develop more wrinkles and fine lines, we lose fat in the cheeks and around the eyes, and gain excess loose tissue in the lower part of the face.”

“Our skin tone becomes patchy and uneven, and our hair turns gray and thins. This filter is pretty accurate!

Her TikTok has been viewed by more than 11.1 million people – some of whom are happy with the information, while others are not too happy with the results of the filters.

One user wrote: “I need dermatologists to stop validating these filters because I’m going to cry.”

Another essay: “But why do I look 100 when I’m 45?” God!

Others added: “And that’s why I’m getting my first facelift at 35” and “Please don’t say that, I look like I invented dust.”

However, some viewers reacted positively, insisting that it is “such an amazing thing to get old.”

Someone else wrote: “Aging is a privilege that is denied to many!” I’m sad to see all the comments from people who are afraid of getting old.”

Another agreed: “I actually think this age filter is a lot softer than the other one.” I’m not afraid of this.”

One viewer objected: “Girl, this filter says that by the age of 50 I will look 100, this is in no way true,” to which the dermatologist explained: “This is the pattern!” The rate is individual.”

So, the expert explained that the filter “precisely determines” what you’ll look like, but how quickly you age depends on “genetics, skin care and lifestyle,” which reassured some people.

Lindsay Zubricki, another US dermatologist, agreed that the filter was an “accurate reflection of the aging process.”

UK dermatologist Dr Adele from London also echoed her thoughts, writing on TikTok: “I look like my grandma.”

One user commented: “Sad to hear because mine looks like a 200 year old version of my grandfather,” while another wrote: “Joke on this filter, I’m getting a facelift at 45 and 65.”

Someone who was pleased with what they saw wrote: “I’m glad this is true, it shows I don’t look a day over 30 until I’m 50 lol.”

British dermatologist Dr Adele from London also echoed her thoughts: following her on TikTok “I look like my grandmother.”

She told viewers: “These filters are designed to show you all the changes that happen as you age, and let me tell you, they are frighteningly accurate.”

“So you may see your bags under your eyes becoming more noticeable, your laugh lines becoming more visible, your cheeks starting to appear, your overall skin tone becoming uneven—what are we thinking?”

Someone objected: “How can this be so true?” I look so good now, but these filters are terrible! I don’t want to believe it.”

Another asked: “At 27, facial scanners told me I needed to focus on wrinkles and start using anti-aging products.” Any tips please?’, to which the dermatologist replied, ‘Wearing sunscreen every day is the most important step.’

Others insisted: “Mom, I’m going to get Botox because I look like I woke up from a coffin” and “Doctor, please don’t scare me.” I look like I died years ago.”

If you’re brave enough to try out the filter yourself, simply open the app and search for “time travel filter” and then tap “use this effect.”

Then click the “auto mode” option to display changing years above your head, or select the specific year you want to see.
