An Al-Ittihad player was apparently whipped by an irate supporter in disgraceful scenes after the Saudi Super Cup final on Thursday night.

Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah was flogged twice after confronting the unnamed person and throwing water in their direction.

Tensions then boiled over as several of Hamdallah’s teammates rushed over.

Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante both started for Al-Ittihad but were helpless to prevent the Saudi Pro League side falling to a 4-1 defeat at Al-Hilal.

Hamdallah appeared to bear the brunt of the frustration from the stands despite scoring the equalizer after 21 minutes and was later targeted by an irate spectator.

As the striker came off the field, he appeared to hear the abuse being hurled his way and responded by drenching the supporter in water from his bottle.

Incredibly, the follower then pulled out a whip before lashing out at Hamdallah. Players and officials stepped in to break it up and bring the player to safety.

The whip-swinger was quickly shooed away by another fan before two members of stadium security stepped in and guided him further away.

Striker Malcom scored twice as Al-Hilal eased to victory to lift the trophy in Abu Dhabi, with Jorge Jesus’ side also top of the league in their bid to win the quadruple.

Al-Hilal took an early lead after Malcom slotted home following a sharp one-two with Salah Al-Shehri, only for Hamdallah to equalize from a rebound soon after.
