EMILY PRESCOTT: Racing presenter Francesca Cumani found herself stuck in the snow near her Lake District home
It’s a hectic time of year for everyone, but I suspect Francesca Cumani has been busier than most.
The 40-year-old racing presenter, who was heavily pregnant, became snowed in at her Lake District home and then, as she managed to get out, her tire burst and had to be rescued by a tow truck.
Thankfully, the saga ended with happy news: Francesca and her triathlon partner Max Johnson welcomed their second child, and Francesca’s third.
Celebrating the good news, Francesca says: “We became a family of five at 9:45 on Monday morning.”
Enough hands for future snow removal!

The mother or three is a popular racing presenter, interviewing the likes of Hayley Turner, pictured riding Eddystone Rock at Ascot.
At 62, lawyer Nancy Dell’Olio, the former lover of former England football coach Sven-Goran Eriksson, tells me: “I’m still looking for Prince Charming.”
But did she find him? At the Boisdale Cigar Smoker of the Year event, hosted by Tom Parker Bowles, she rearranged the seat cards to seat Nick Ferrari, 64, a married LBC presenter.
He does it smartly, Eddie.
He always looks impeccable, so perhaps Home Secretary James Cleverley is finding fashion inspiration close to home.
I can reveal that his cousin’s daughter is up-and-coming model Edie Liberty Rose, 23. Although she has not yet become his official stylist, James, 54, tells me: “Edie may have started commenting on my clothes over time. I’m not sure it was ever a killer, but I honestly don’t think I ever blinded her with my threads.
Edie Liberty Rose, pictured wearing Mugler at the British Fashion Awards, is the daughter of James’s cousin, lawyer Chris Cleverley, and journalist Sharon Walker.

At 15, she was discovered at a music festival and has now signed a contract with Storm Models, where Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne began their careers. Since then, she has posed for Dior and most recently was the face of a collaboration between Ganni and 66 Degrees North. Perhaps cooperation with the Cabinet of Ministers will be next?
Emily can’t see the prince…
Former BBC Newsnight presenter Emily Maitlis was left red-faced at the premiere of The Crown in London last week. After watching the latest episode of the Netflix drama at the Royal Festival Hall, she joined the star-studded cast for the party.
Here, a young man approached her and told her what a fan he was of her current affairs podcast, News Agents, to which she responded, “How sweet, I’m so touched!” What are you doing?’ He said he was a “working actor” who was “just trying to find roles.”
Emily, 53, asked if she would have seen him anywhere. After an awkward pause, he said: “The Crown… I play Prince William. I’m Rufus. Embarrassed, Emily quickly apologized to 17-year-old Rufus Campa. Emily admitted the next day: “I suffer from face blindness. I just don’t recognize the face. We were at the finale of The Crown, so it had to be a gift.” I will say!
