Former NFL star Sergio Brown has reportedly pleaded not guilty to murdering his mother after he was charged and taken into custody earlier this year.
Brown’s mother, Myrtle, 73, was beaten to death and thrown into a creek behind their home in Maywood, Illinois, and her body was found on September 16. Brown’s troubled brother Nick disappeared with her.
It was eventually revealed that the 35-year-old had traveled to Mexico where he posted several erratic videos on social media. He was then deported and taken into custody in October.
Later that month, he reportedly appeared before a judge at a hearing just a few miles from where he is accused of killing Myrtle and dumping her body in a creek.
And yet, according to TMZ SportBrown pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder and concealment of a corpse before an Illinois judge Wednesday.
