Former Coronation Street actress Mo Moreland has died aged 87 in her care home after a long illness.
The actress died at her North Shore care home on the Fly Coast on Friday after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Her friend and Les Dawson’s wife Tracey Dawson paid tribute to Ms Moreland, calling her “like a mum and a sister”.
Ms Moreland, born in Sheffield, appeared in two episodes of Corrie in April 1976 as a “fat lady” trying to buy clothes at Sylvia’s Separates.
But she is best known as the lead dancer of the comedy dance troupe The Roly Polys, created by comedian Mr Dawson.

Leading the tribute, Ms Dawson said: “I miss her terribly because she has been so supportive of me that I am heartbroken.
“The great thing is that they played Rollie Paulie and Les for her before she passed away.”
She continued: “She helped me when Les passed away because I lost my mum when I was little.
“She took me under her wing, looked after my daughter Charlotte and helped me raise her.
“She was wonderful and I will miss her dearly.”
There will be more to come.
