Former University of Michigan football star Denard Robinson was arrested Monday for operating while intoxicated after the 33-year-old was allegedly involved in a single-car accident.

A spokesman for the Ann Arbor Police Department said TMZ that the accident happened around 03.05 near the team headquarters.

Robinson is currently the team’s assistant director of player personnel, although head coach Sherrone Moore announced that he had been suspended indefinitely.

“We are aware of an incident involving Denard Robinson and have suspended him indefinitely,” Moore said in a statement.

“We will continue to monitor the situation and will have no further comment at this time.”

An Ann Arbor police spokesman told TMZ that charges against Robinson are ‘pending toxicology results.’

Robinson is the second Michigan employee to be arrested since March, when defensive line coach Greg Scruggs was also arrested for DUI.

He would step down from his role just five days later.

Robinson starred for the team from 2009-12 as a dual-threat quarterback, totaling 4,495 yards and 42 touchdowns on the ground.

Selected by the Jaguars in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft, he went on to play wide receiver and running back for the franchise for four seasons.

Robinson joined Michigan’s staff in February 2022.
