Former world champion Roy Jones Jr claims he is ’75 per cent sure he will fight Tommy Fury,’ with the boxing legend claiming that ‘the bout is being negotiated’ and an exhibition fight ‘could happen in the UK’

Former four-division world boxing champion Roy Jones Jr. has said he is “75 percent confident” he will fight Tommy Fury, adding that talks are already underway for a potential exhibition bout.
The 54-year-old, who holds the middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight titles, also revealed that the fight between him and the former Love Island contestant could take place in either Saudi Arabia or the UK.
Jones Jr., who announced his retirement back in 2018, recently returned to fight Mike Tyson in an exhibition bout that ended in a draw.
The American, who has a record of 66-10-0, returned to the ring in April for a professional fight against UFC fighter Anthony Pettis, but lost to the MMA fighter on points.
Although there would be a 30-year age gap between him and Fury, Jones Jr admitted the potential fight was an offer he couldn’t refuse.

Jones Jr. said he is “75 percent confident” the fight will happen and could be part of the undercard of the John Fury-Mike Tyson fight.
The 54-year-old retired from professional boxing in 2018 but came out of retirement to fight Mike Tyson in 2020.
“Saudi Arabia at this point will probably pay what I want for the exhibition to happen,” Jones Jr. said. Casino Alpha. “Speaking of the Saudis, I will say that I am 75% sure that this fight will take place against Tommy Fury.
“And if there’s no money in Saudi Arabia, maybe Tommy and I could do an exhibition in the UK, and it would be the first time I’ve had the opportunity to perform in the UK.” Am I really going to give this up?
Fury, meanwhile, recently defeated KSI via unanimous decision. A victory that the YouTuber-turned-boxer later appealed after Fury appeared to hit him in the back of the head.
While it’s unclear who Fury might fight next after he also defeated Jake Paul earlier this year, it looks like a fight between him and Jones Jr. could take place on the undercard of the fight between his father John Fury and Mike Tyson.
“Me and Tommy Fury is a great idea,” Jones Jr added. “John Fury originally said he wanted to fight Mike Tyson, so I said, ‘If y’all are going to do it, let’s do an all-out card – if John fights Mike, I’ll fight Tommy on the undercard or on the undercard.’ as co-lead,” that would be great, right?
Fury’s last fight came against KSI in October, with the 24-year-old winning by unanimous decision.
Jones Jr. hoped to beat Fury, arguing that his experience would bode well for him.
“Tommy Fury said, ‘Okay, let’s fight for real,’ and I said, ‘Okay, this might work, but I need to get these knees right first.’
He added: “I didn’t hear from John Fury and Mike Tyson anymore, but Tommy Fury said, ‘Hey, we can still do our thing and have our own show.’ And I said, “That’s not a bad idea, but the money has to be right.”
Jones also added that he is ready to beat Fury, saying his experience in the ring is “balanced” by the age of his potential opponent.
“We are negotiating,” he said. “This fight is being discussed, it’s a really interesting fight because Tommy is inexperienced and that’s balanced out by my age and experience; “I’m a 54-year-old guy who can actually fight for real, and I’d fight a guy who’s not that experienced but who’s well built and who can get the job done, it’s an even fight.”
