– I want to ask you about this. What’s the casting process like, finding your Hitler?” Jimmy, 56, asked.

“It’s complicated. Because guys put on lousy little mustaches and tape themselves up,” said George, looking dapper in a gray suit.

“And you are, dude. The good news is that you got the part. The bad news is that you are Hitler. What is this?” said George.

Jimmy joked that he would never give George a video of himself with a Hitler mustache, and then asked George what he did after he found his Hitler.

“Well, obviously it’s depressing. It’s kind of a relief, actually, because when you’re doing a period piece and you’re doing something, it’s 1936. Everyone knew Hitler was a bad guy and had no idea how much worse it would get. ‘ said George.

Jimmy said he found it interesting that the Germans greeted the Americans when they entered Berlin.

“Right before all hell broke loose,” George said.

“It was a funny thing. We were filming, we were in London, and we had to shoot in all these places and put up swastikas, and it was terrible. And you always apologize. “I’m really sorry”. And we filmed at the Greenwich Naval Academy Museum, and it’s very British. And this older gentleman comes up and he’s wearing medals and he’s like, “Right. What exactly are you going to film here?” We toured the locations. And I said, “Well, we’re going to put some swastikas on this thing.” And he looked at me and said, “That’s right. But no French flags, right?” And I said, “No.” This shit runs deep,” George said.

The Boys in the Boat is based on the 2013 Daniel James Brown film of the same name, starring Callum Turner and Joel Edgerton.

The film is scheduled to be released by Amazon MGM Studios in the US on December 25.
