I’m A Celeb’s Nella leaves ITV staff ‘baffled’ after pulling out of first TV interview with Lorraine Kelly as she ‘puts family first’

ITV viewers were left in disbelief on Tuesday morning after Nella Rose pulled out of her first interview since leaving I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The 26-year-old influencer, who became the second star to be voted out, left ITV’s Lorraine staff in disbelief. when she canceled an appointment at the last minute.

Having said she wants to put her family first, Nella is now set to appear on Lorraine’s stablemates show This Morning.

ITV sources say the move is somewhat “mysterious” as it is an unprecedented case of a guest abandoning one of the channel’s daytime programs to move to another.

Lorraine Kelly, presenter of Lorraine, said yesterday morning: “She was going to join us this morning but has decided not to do any interviews today, but we can meet later.”

The influencer, who became the second star to be voted out, left Lorraine’s staff at ITV in disbelief when she canceled the invitation at the last minute.

Meanwhile, an ITV source told MailOnline: “No one can figure out what’s going on.” You just don’t say you’re doing Lorraine and then you do This Morning.

The Scottish presenter usually interviews contestants remotely after they leave the jungle camp, with first evictee Frankie Dettori appearing on Monday’s show.

But Nella pulled out of a pre-planned live performance to give herself time to “rest and recover”, leaving producers with an eleventh-hour scramble to fill her spot.

While celebrities are usually greeted by their loved ones as they cross the jungle bridge, Nella was not greeted by anyone on Monday evening.

She has since been reunited with her brother, who flew to Australia to be by her side after she became the second campmate to be voted out of the jungle.

Big sibling Albert, 27, touched down at Brisbane Airport hours after being kicked out by presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, with no one greeting the star as she crossed the show’s famous bridge.

Nella’s friends told MailOnline she needed a day to “process” her time on the ITV soap, which saw the presenter challenge politician Nigel Farage and fall out with Fred Sirieix.

It’s clear Nella’s priority is to catch up with her brother, who she’s thrilled to see again after a few weeks at the Australian camp.

Having said she wants to put her family first, Nella is now set to appear on Lorraine’s stablemates show This Morning.

A source close to Nella told MailOnline: “All Nella needs now is a day to relax and reflect on all the events that have happened to her while on I’m a Celebrity.”

“While she thoroughly enjoyed the experience, she also had a lot to digest and discuss with ITV and her team, but she didn’t yet feel ready to interview Lorraine live.

“Her brother Albert arrived in Australia shortly after she was axed from the show and for her it means he is there for her.

“It may seem like no one close to her met her when she crossed the I’m A Celeb bridge, but her brother wasn’t far away.”

Family members from the UK watched her compete in the show and were convinced that her “Congolese spirit” would lead to her victory, but this did not happen.

A relative said she came from a close-knit family and shared her regret that she did not reach out to them and ask for help when her mother died suddenly in her arms – and she was evicted from the family home.

The social media influencer became the second campmate to be voted out of the jungle after he received the fewest public votes.

In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, a relative recently said: “All of Nella’s siblings and other members of her family, wherever they are, are watching her in the jungle – and praying that she wins.”

“We are very proud of her achievements, what she has done is absolutely amazing. She demonstrates the fighting spirit of the Congolese people, and we are all with her.

“She is very loved because we are a caring Congolese family even though we live in different countries. She also has an aunt, her mother’s sister, who lives in London. And her father came from a very large, wealthy family.

“There are many of them in the Congo, and others are scattered throughout Europe. She could have turned to any of us for help.”
