After her husband suffered a high ankle sprain Monday night, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s wife, Marissa Lawrence, shared a screenshot of her Instagram direct messages full of positivity.
“Really blown away by the kindness and love of people,” Marissa said in a comment attached to the video of the direct messages.
“Just wanted to share something positive and sincerely thank everyone for your prayers and support,” Marissa continued. “I’m grateful to be surrounded by so many wonderful people.”
Despite the hateful stigma associated with social media, including Marissa Lawrence herself shouting out a fan on Instagram last month, she shared a video with dozens of well wishes for her husband.
Lawrence’s upper ankle sprain was designated a weekly injury after he left the game against the Cincinnati Bengals with an illness and did not return.

Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Trevor Lawrence suffered a high ankle sprain on Monday.
At first glance, Lawrence’s injury looked much more serious than a possible absence of several weeks.
Lawrence’s body language after being stepped on by a teammate and flexing his ankle was similar to New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ body language when he tore his Achilles on 9/11. Rodgers hasn’t played since.
The Jaguars’ next game is Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, and Lawrence is unlikely to play.
A week later, Jacksonville has another primetime game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Lawrence’s return to action looks more likely on Dec. 24 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with three games remaining in the regular season.
With Lawrence going down in pain Monday night, Jaguars fans would have likely assumed their franchise quarterback would be healthy for the postseason.
That now appears to be the case, unlike several other Week 1 starting quarterbacks who have been sidelined for the season.
And it was reflected in Marissa Lawrence’s positive messages.
