Seattle Seahawks quarterback Jamal Adams appeared to take a jab at the NFL by liking a social media post just days after he took a dig at a reporter’s wife.
Last week, Adams faced significant backlash after he responded to criticism by ridiculing the wife of reporter Connor Hughes on Twitter.
And after being criticized for his social media ridicule, Adams appears to be making another attempt, this time aimed at the NFL.
The 28-year-old liked a Dec. 3 tweet that read, “Why is the @NFL so soft!!!”

Adam posted a photo of Connor Hughes’ wife and captioned it “uh-huh” before deleting it.
Adams came under fire for his defense on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Jake Ferguson’s winning touchdown in last week’s Honest Night Football game. The game saw the Cowboys take the lead with just four and a half minutes remaining.
Hughes, an SNYtv writer who has covered Jets games since Adams played for New York, retweeted the play and captioned it: “Uh-huh.”
Last Friday, Adams used the same caption—and a mocking emoji—when he tweeted a photo of Hughes’ wife.
Speaking on Wednesday, Adams showed no remorse for his actions, saying: “It’s always the athlete who crosses the line when he reacts.” But at the end of the day, disrespect is disrespect, no matter how you feel about it. So I answered.
“I knew when I tweeted that I wasn’t going to win it. Ultimately, this should have made him realize, “Leave me the hell alone.”
“When others go lower, I go lower. I mean, you can sit and regret it. But that’s not how I live my life. Connor and I had a history… We never loved each other.
“I’m not here to say whether it’s fair or not. But at the same time, at the end of the day, it’s been a personal thing for him and for me since I was a Jets player and even before that, since I was a rookie.
“As I said, this has been going on for countless years. He always said something smart about my performance if I was wrong. And I’m just sick of it, bro. That was the end.”
Fans called Adams a “piece of human garbage” and a “loser” after his cheap shot at Hughes’ wife.

In the midst of the backlash, Adams amplified his remarks by posting another tweet that read: “Don’t start, nothing will be nothing.” A subsequent tweet added fuel to the fire as fans continued to flame Adams on social media.
“You got cooked last night,” a fan commented. “Just take it like a man.”
Adams spent his first three NFL seasons with the Jets before being traded to Seattle in 2020. Adams made the last of his three Pro Bowl appearances in his first year with the Seahawks.
Adams has struggled this season and has yet to record a sack or interception with the Seahawks, currently 6-6 and in second place in the NFC West.
