Jess Glynne says her high-profile relationship with Alex Scott has only attracted ‘super positive’ attention – after keeping previous romances private

Jess Glynne has stated that her high-profile relationship with Alex Scott has only attracted ‘super positive’ attention.

The singer, 34, who became Instagram official with the football host, 39, at Christmas, has said in a new interview that she ‘didn’t know what to expect’ when they got together.

Having always kept past relationships ‘very private’ – she happily revealed the pair ‘have received no negativity at all’.

She told The times: ‘It’s a different kind of attention for me, but so far all that attention has been super positive.

‘I’ve never made my personal life public before so I had no idea what to expect. Probably because I wasn’t in a relationship with anyone famous, I had always managed to keep that side of me very private.

‘The interest was inevitable with us, but you know there’s nothing negative because we haven’t had any negativity at all.

‘We both give so much in what we do, coming home to your friends, to your family, to your partner, it’s ‘you’ time. I will never sell so short’.

It comes after Jess opened up about her relationship with boyfriend Alex for the first time last month on Monday.

She sweetly said that she is in a ‘happy relationship’.

The Take Me Home artist said their romance is going ‘really well’ and she ‘feels very comfortable’ with the former Arsenal player.

Talking to Fearne Cotton about her Happy Place podcast, Jess said: ‘The work I’ve done on myself has actually put me in and allowed me to go into a relationship where I’m very comfortable and just being me. I am unapologetically me.

‘It has given me the opportunity to be really happy in a new relationship. I find love to be a really scary subject and it’s usually something I stay pretty far away from.

‘But it’s a nice thing to be able to embrace someone and a relationship that feels really genuinely good’.

But Jess said it’s still difficult to have a relationship in public and she likes to try and keep her ‘personal life to herself’.

She continued: ‘It’s something I’m getting used to. I somehow love to keep my personal life to myself. It is so important.

“Although we are both in this public space, what we have is ours. I feel like it’s something I always want to do.

‘People want so much from you and what’s so beautiful is that we both feel that way and it’s something we want to hold on to and keep to ourselves.’

Her words came after the pair put on a loved-up display at a Brit Awards after-party at the start of March.

The pair attended the Universal Music party at 180 The Strand after avoiding each other on the red carpet earlier in the night.

As they posed for snaps, singer Jess sweetly embraced The Football Focus host as they shared a lovely moment.

They later left the bash holding hands after enjoying the big night out in London together.

It happened after the couple soaked up the sun in Mexico in January.

Days before going on holiday, following the BBC SPOTY Awards, the two went social media official for the first time – despite being linked since October 2023.

At the awards ceremony, the two were spotted in their glamorous attire as they smiled for a group photo.

Alex was sitting with her glam squad getting ready when the singer took a selfie of them both.

But the pair opted not to pose together for any red carpet snaps at the star-studded sporting event, which was held at MediaCityUK in Salford.

Alex and Jess were first pictured sharing a passionate kiss together in November.

But it was first reported that Alex and Jess were in a secret relationship in the summer of 2023.

About their relationship, a friend told The sun at the time: ‘Alex and Jess have been a slow burn and they didn’t want to rush things or go public too soon.

‘But they are officially an item now and seem really happy.

‘They are both strong, independent women with a shared passion and respect for their respective careers, supporting each other from the sidelines.

‘It’s still early days for them but they’ve met each other’s mates and everyone is super happy for them.’

Alex played for Arsenal Women and represented England for over 10 years before retiring in 2018.

She currently presents football news and results program Final Score and guest presents The One Show.

Jess Glynne rose to fame in 2015 with the success of her debut album I Cry When I Laugh. She has the most number ones of any female British solo artist.
