Joking posts from TikTok star Kyle Marisa Roth, who has died aged 36, revealed her struggles with depression after beating colon cancer.
In an Instagram story posted approximately two months before her passing, the content creator candidly shared that she was ‘struggles so hard with depression’.
Kyle, who had been open about her battle with colon cancer, revealed she suffered the worst panic attack of her life and pleaded with her followers not to tell her she was going to be okay.
‘I get overwhelmed when people approach me when I’m depressed. Trying to navigate my brain now that COVID has changed it,’ she wrote.
‘I don’t need to be told “it’s going to be okay”, I just need you to understand if I don’t answer you for 3 months, IT’S BECAUSE OF ME, nothing to do with you,’ she continued .

The creator, who had nearly 200,000 followers, was known on the platform for reading blind items from the entertainment world, which are gossip stories about famous people that do not name the people involved.
During his TikTok videos, Kyle would weigh in on entertainment news using his signature catchphrase: ‘Want more? I’ll show you more.’
Her content resonated with a diverse audience, including animal lovers — especially when she featured her dog.
Kyle had been public about her health issues in recent years, which she shared insight into mental health, body positivity and self-care.
In a post made in February, she wrote: ‘Depression doesn’t go away just because some people are nice. This is mental illness.’
“If you want to be my friend, DO IT IN PERSON I hate being on my phone when I don’t have to be,” she said.
“I just had the worst panic attack of my life today and it felt like a king heart attack so that was my body’s way of saying KYLE TAKE A BLUE OR RED PILL AND RELAX IT,” she continued.
In videos posted in late March, Kyle, who appeared noticeably thinner than she had been a year earlier, tearfully shared that her main TikTok account had been banned for no reason.
“This week couldn’t have been better. My main account got banned. All the hard work…’ she said as she cried.
In another post asking her fans to help report the issue to TikTok, she said: ‘I literally need this account to pay my rent.’

Kyle’s mother, Jacquie Cohen Roth, shared the news of her daughter’s death on LinkedIn this week, but did not reveal the cause of Kyle’s death.
‘This is not a platform for personal life sharing, but so many of my connections on this platform go back years and I have a devastating loss to share.
‘My daughter Kyle is dead. She touched some of your lives personally and some of your lives through her vast life on another platform.
‘Kyle loved and lived fiercely. Nothing makes sense now and we will understand more over the next few days. Please be kind to each other.’

‘My sister Kyle Marisa passed away last week. As a family we are still processing and deciding how to celebrate and honor her life. We don’t know what happened yet,’ Lindsay wrote.
‘I know she touched so many people with her humor, intelligence, beauty, gossip activism, athleticism and more – she had so many gifts.
‘If anyone wants to connect with Kyle, I’m here to talk and share memories. I will also keep you informed of any memorials as they are planned. I am so sorry for those learning of this loss right now.
“Any prayers, thoughts, blessings or intentions for this soul’s smooth transition are welcome,” she continued.
Julia Fox was one of the celebrities affected by the loss of the TikTok star, responding to Lindsay Roth’s post, saying: ‘I know I’ve never met Kyle in real life, but I really felt like I knew her.
‘I am so devastated and have been crying ever since the news leaked on TikTok. I really hope she did and I hope she knew how much she touched our lives.
“She was a ray of sunshine and I will miss her dearly.”
