Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake told a crowd to ‘strap on a Glock’ at a recent event as the 2024 election season intensifies.

Lake was speaking Sunday at a Republican dinner in Mohave County, when she told law enforcement officers and veterans in the audience that it would be a “crazy race” for the next six months.

‘They’re going to come after us with everything. That’s why the next six months are going to be intense,” Lake said.

‘What will we be excited about? We must fasten our seat belts. We put on our helmet or your Kari Lake ball cap. We put on the armor of God,” Lake said.

‘So maybe strap a Glock on the side just in case. You can put one here and one in the back or one in the front, whatever you decide, she said, gesturing to her hip.

Lake’s remarks come as there have been heightened tensions as the 2024 election season heats up and growing concern over political rhetoric leading to violence.

“We do not become victims of crime. We will not have our Second Amendment taken away. We certainly do not want our First Amendment rights taken away by these tyrants, she added.

The right-wing Arizona candidate and close ally of former President Trump said this was ‘the moment we have to save our country’.

Lake said Trump is willing to ‘sacrifice everything’ and claimed ‘they are coming after us with justice’.

DailyMail.com asked the Lake campaign to clarify what Lake meant by suggesting the audience ‘strap on a Glock’.

Trump overwhelmingly won Mohave County on the western side of Arizona with 75 percent of the vote in 2020.

But overall, Arizona is one of the biggest battleground states in 2024 for both the presidential and Senate races.

President Biden won the state over Trump by just over 10,000 votes in 2020.

The Democratic Party hit out at Lake’s recent remark, saying it has no place in our political discourse.

Speaking last June about Trump’s accusations at an event in Georgia, Lake warned anyone who comes after Trump would have to ‘go through’ her and 75 million Americans like her.

“I’ll tell you, most of us are card-carrying members of the NRA,” she told a crowd at the event.

‘It’s not a threat, it’s a public service announcement.’
