Kevin De Bruyne’s new-hair, new-look ‘glow-up’ transformation comes under the microscope on It’s All Kicking Off – so what is the Man City star planning?!

Kevin De Bruyne made his long-awaited return to action after a five-month break due to injury and got a new haircut.

The 32-year-old came off the bench to feature during City’s 5-0 FA Cup win over Huddersfield on Sunday, but Mail Sport’s Chris Sutton and Dominic King questioned whether his new style suits him on the Mail Sport podcast. It all begins‘.

While the duo praised him as a sensational musician, Sutton joked that he may have been spending too much time with his teammate Jack Grealish or was even looking to release a new song.

He came off the bench to play 34 minutes during City’s match against Huddersfield, his first appearance since the 3-0 Premier League win over Burnley in August.

He could now be in line to play for City this weekend as they travel to take on Newcastle at St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.

Previewing this weekend’s fixtures, Dominic King said we’re in for a great weekend of football as Chelsea and Fulham take on each other before Pep Guardiola’s side and Eddie Howe’s side go head-to-head.

Talking about ‘It all beginsKing said: “From lunch at Stamford Bridge you’ll head north-east for tea in what is another highlight of the match between Newcastle and Manchester City and we’ll see Kevin De Bruyne at his best.” as we are led to believe what happened to his new hair.

“Did you do anything to your hair this morning knowing I was in on it?” You look very smart,” he added to Sutton.

‘Yeah. Nothing special,” Sutton replied, adding: “Oh, thank you very much. As for Kevin De Bruyne, is this a midlife crisis he’s going through even though he’s still a little young?

“Will he release a song?” I don’t know what, why? Why the changes? Why Grealish’s hair?

“He always seems… An ordinary guy, Kevin De Bruyne. He looks very strange now, doesn’t he? I don’t think it suits him. Just go back to boring Kevin. Come on.’

De Bruyne made a brilliant return from injury, providing the assist for Jeremy Doc with a beautiful cross.

King questioned his judgment, saying, “What about you?” No, everything is okay. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. There’s nothing wrong with growing it. I grew my hair a little longer. There is nothing wrong.

“But it’s a sea change,” the former England striker said, noting the City midfielder’s golden locks.

The Belgian, pictured here during the 2023 FACup final, was ruled out with a hamstring injury after coming off in the first half of the Champions League final.

Despite his jokes, Sutton praised the midfielder as a “bloody player” and said City will now go “from strength to strength” as he recovers from injury.

“If he’d been doing this his whole career, you’d say, yeah, I get it. But I don’t know, still a great player, but a midlife crisis, I think.”

“Well, if we say someone has a midlife crisis at 30, then God knows what that says for us, but it would be great to see him again,” King added of De Bruyne’s return.

“And that quote from Jurgen Klopp a couple of weeks ago about Kevin De Bruyne starting to run and the whole country starting to shake, I think is just an indication of how the second half of the season is going to go.”

Klopp’s comments came after Liverpool moved three points clear at the top of the Premier League with a 4-2 win over Newcastle, with the German joking that the rest of the Premier League would be nervous about De Bruyne could be back in action very soon.

In response to King’s comments, Sutton said: “Yes, exactly. I mean, your Liverpool gang have been great this season, haven’t they?

“But now Manchester City haven’t really moved on. De Bruyne is back. New hairstyle. Has he got new teeth? Who knows? Has he been to Turkey? No one knows.

– But now he’s back. What do we know? He’s a damn good player, isn’t he? And we all think that Manchester City will now go from strength to strength. He’s back on their side, (Jeremy) Doku is back, (Erling) Haaland is back. It all adds up for Manchester City.

“But Liverpool also find a way, don’t they?” So I think we’re in for a tremendous end to the season, I really do.”

King added: “Yeah, you know the expression ‘turkey teeth’? Did you hear that?

“Yeah, I heard that,” Sutton replied. “That’s where everyone goes to get their hair done. I mean, you’ll be there in a few years, Dom, I think, on the plane.

King: “I wouldn’t think so. One thing I wouldn’t put my mind at ease is new hair and new teeth. I’m already bad enough. I couldn’t hurt anyone else. But I’ll tell you what: I’ll make a prediction. I think City will win comfortably on Saturday night.”

“Oh, you’re brave,” the former Celtic striker replied.

King added: “There’s no point in getting into a debate with you and saying, ‘I’m going to sit on the fence.’

“Oh, I don’t know how it’s going to go. I think City will beat them. I think City will beat Newcastle on Saturday night. I really do.’
