Marcus Rashford is a doubt for Manchester United’s match against Bournemouth on Saturday due to illness.
Erik ten Hag confirmed the news at his press conference on Friday, with the Premier League manager of the month looking to build on an impressive win over Chelsea this week.
Rashford was a late substitute in Wednesday’s game at Old Trafford, having been left out of the starting line-up following a poor performance against Newcastle last weekend.
It is unclear whether he would have started against Bournemouth as United looked much more energetic and threatening in attack in the absence of the England striker.
But there may not be a choice, with Rashford potentially leaving the squad on matchday.

The 26-year-old was left out of United’s Premier League starting lineup for the first time this season on Wednesday after receiving widespread criticism for his actions against Newcastle.
He appears to have repeatedly refused to revisit the past and has shown little desire to get involved, with former United player Mark Hughes saying he doesn’t think Rashford is enjoying football again.
“I think Rashford is back to the mentality he had before last season – he doesn’t look happy,” he told a news conference. No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast with Sam Allardyce.
“Obviously he’s had a lot of experiences away from the game which may have taken something away from him and maybe he just needs to focus solely on his role when he’s asked to pull on the Manchester United shirt.

Ten Hag, meanwhile, insists Rashford must try to fight his way back into the side.
“Rashford is an incredible, good player,” he said. “You can’t do that with 11 players, he can’t play every game. At the moment he is not in the same shape as he was last year, but I am confident that he will achieve his goal.
It’s his business. The team will always line up and the best players will play to make the best team. I think we have a squad and there is internal competition within the squad. Each season will be different, and each season will determine the best team.
“They are here, they are great players and have played a role in the team. That’s what you expect from every player, you have to strive for that.”
