Married At First Sight bride Madeleine Maxwell reveals what REALLY happened during her infamous ‘cow scene’

Married at First Sight contestant Madeleine Maxwell has opened up about her short but memorable stint on season 11 of the popular reality show.

The physical medium and actress, 30, bizarrely broke down in tears after seeing a herd of cows during her honeymoon with husband Ash Galati.

During the infamous episode, Madeleine was left heartbroken when she saw the cows, having eaten beef the night before.

Sales manager Ash, 33, was left confused and admitted he couldn’t understand her emotional outburst.

But Wednesday, Madeleine explained Yahoo lifestyle that she had been vegan and vegetarian on and off for several years.

She also claimed that there was a lot of context removed from the scene, saying it all started after a conversation in the car the day before.

‘So we drove down to Slaughterhouse Road. And it came up because obviously we’re talking about slaughterhouses, at the time I was on medication for my skin and I needed the healing to happen really quickly. So I ate meat, not red meat, but meat,’ she told the publication.

“And so it was a topic of conversation that kind of made me also really realize that I was becoming like with nature, with cows, and that kind of connection would probably come up again,” the actress continued.

Madeleine explained that her emotional reaction was also fueled by producers, who only moments earlier had asked her about a past relationship.

The Home and Away actress admitted that seeing the cows added to the ‘guilt’ and ‘shame’ she already felt towards her ex.

It comes after Madeleine revealed why she never made it to the explosive reunions.

Speaking to TheWSTNews Australia about the no-show, Madeleine said she simply didn’t ‘adjust’ to Married At First Sight and wanted nothing to do with the show following her dramatic exit earlier in the season.

“I chose not to go to the reunion because I didn’t feel aligned with the production itself,” the former Home and Away actress said cryptically.

‘The production itself was something that was contrary to what they sell Australia.’
