Mary Fowler dazzles in kissing selfie as Matildas star flaunts glamorous new look after NRL beau Nathan Cleary took to the red carpet solo in Sydney

Mary Fowler may not have been able to attend the GQ Awards with Nathan Cleary last week, but the Matilda star still wowed with a bold new look in a selfie uploaded to Instagram.

Fowler, 21, was in Canada last week with the Australian squad while her NRL beau Cleary made a slightly awkward red carpet appearance alone, returning home to Sydney for the glamorous awards night on Wednesday.

The Matildas are recovering from back-to-back defeats to Olympic gold medalists and coach Tony Gustafsson is under increasing scrutiny to turn things around.

But Fowler put her squad turmoil aside over the weekend, sending a testament to her 375,000 followers with a kissing selfie uploaded on Sunday morning.

Wearing a shoulderless white dress, Fowler grimaces at the camera and wears a bold red lipstick.

It’s no surprise that Cleary was asked about his new romance while attending the GQ Awards on Wednesday.

“I knew this would happen,” he said Daily Telegraphblushing quickly.

The Panthers star grinned as he was photographed, but it was noticeable that Fowler wasn’t by his side.

Fowler recently posted a cryptic poem that describes life’s “horrible moments” and fans are worried it could be linked to her date with Cleary.

She shared a poem by famous writer L.R. Knost, which talks about the difficulties that people face every day.

Knost encourages readers to “breathe in the amazing” and “breathe out the ordinary” moments.

Fans of the couple were looking for signs that they were maintaining contact, despite the huge distance between them.

Cleary and Fowler still regularly like each other’s Instagram posts.
