Mohamed Salah nets his 200th goal for Liverpool after his close-range strike against Crystal Palace as the Egyptian forward joins patheon of club legends at Anfield
Mohamed Salah scored his 200th goal for Liverpool with a superb finish against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.
The forward came in from close range against the Eagles, scoring for the 199th time in a red shirt in a 4-0 midweek win over LASK in the Europa League.
His milestone date comes just over six years after his £34 million move to Anfield from Roma, having previously played for the likes of Fiorentina, Chelsea and Basel.
He struggled to settle in at any of his previous clubs but finally found a home at Anfield after signing and has now joined an exclusive squad of just three players who have scored a double ton for the Reds.
The 31-year-old was mobbed by his team-mates after striking home with a goal to make it 1-1 against Palace on Saturday.

This canceled out Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta’s first penalty kick immediately after Jordan Ayew was sent off. Harvey Elliott then scored a dramatic stoppage-time goal to take Liverpool to the top of the table.
In September, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp described Salah as a “complete player on and off the pitch” after he decided to remain at Liverpool despite interest from the Saudi Pro League.
“He has long become a person for us, but he is growing in the role he plays for us in football, and maybe in general, to show that at the highest level it is nice to enjoy the moment and then move forward again,” the German said.
“Mo doesn’t act like (he’s 31). Off the field he acts like a grown man, but he is still a young player. It’s in great shape, I think if we scanned it most of the bones would be 19 or 20 years old! He just keeps himself in such good shape.”
He will no doubt be praising the Egyptian again after the Eagles game as he once again etched his name into Liverpool history in front of the Reds fans.
Salah has won countless honors since joining Liverpool and scored on his Premier League debut for the team in a 3–3 draw with Watford on 12 August 2017.
In terms of team achievements, he won the Premier League, Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup, FA Cup and League Cup while wearing the red shirt.
Personally, he has won three Premier League Golden Boots, two Footballer of the Year awards and two African Player of the Year awards since his time at the club.
Salah scored his 100th goal at Anfield this May when he scored the winner against Brentford in May and has expressed his willingness to work hard to achieve the success he has achieved in his career.
Salah won a number of team and individual honors as a Liverpool player, including the Premier League.
He also won the Champions League with the club and hopes to return to the competition next year.
Sunday’s award comes just over three years after his 100th goal for the Reds, which came against rivals Everton in October 2020.
Since then, he has surpassed many club legends in the performance conversation, including the likes of Kenny Dalglish, Robbie Fowler and Steven Gerrard.
148 of his goals came in the Premier League, 42 in the Champions League, five in the FA Cup, three in the Europa League, one in the League Cup and one in the FA Cup.
30 of his goals came from penalties, seven of them from open play.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp (left) has praised his star player over the years.
He will travel to the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt in January, aiming to add another title to his long list of successes. Although the tournament will provide a great opportunity for the striker, Liverpool will miss him.
The Reds are chasing the Premier League title as they continue to recover from last season’s disappointing campaign which saw them crash out of the Champions League after reaching the final just a year earlier.
However, players like Salah have chosen to stay at the club and be part of the project while others have left and Klopp’s side are starting to find their form again.
They went into the match against Fulham third in the table behind Manchester City and Arsenal, but were hoping to move two points clear of top spot with another win at Anfield.
