Moment little girl lectures her father for ‘bringing his anger home’ – winning her thousands of fans who praise her for being ‘wise beyond her years’
A video of a young girl telling off her father for his poor treatment of his family has earned praise from thousands of viewers.
Yuanyuan, who appears to be less than ten years old and is from eastern China’s Zhejiang province, has been described by stunned onlookers as “wise beyond her years” and “emotionally intelligent.”
footageThe photo, taken by a family member at home, was uploaded to the South China Morning Post’s YouTube channel on November 10. It shows Yuanyuan having a heart-to-heart talk with his parent, who cannot be seen.
Since being uploaded, the video has been viewed more than 270,000 times, with more than 1,000 people commenting on the girl’s bravery in defying her father at such a young age.
Sitting at the modest dining table, the family appears to be enjoying a home-cooked dinner, but Yuanyuan suppresses his appetite to have a stern talk with his father.

Yuanyuan shared her worry about her father’s anger, saying, “We have to look at your face. We are silent. We’re just kids, it scares us.”
She said, “What makes you think you can yell at your mom when you’re in a bad mood?” You’re upset. Mom asked you why?
“You were just told to shut up and not say anything.” If you don’t want to share your feelings, don’t bring your anger home.”
Yuanyuan continued, looking into her father’s eyes: “We must look at your face. We are silent. We’re just kids, it scares us.”
Referring to her father’s work-related stress, the young girl said, “We know you work very hard. Who isn’t? Doesn’t mom work a lot too?
Taking a more positive stance after being scolded, Yuanyuan seemed to show some compassion and understanding towards her father.
She said: “We are family. We can talk about this. We are not enemies. We can talk normally, right?
The young girl’s sister can be heard repeating her words, asking: “We can have a normal conversation, right?”
Yuanyuan’s fresh approach and courage have earned her much praise online, with many sharing their own experiences of being “too scared” to defy angry or abusive parents as children.

It appears young people have been advising their parents to do the “right thing” in recent years, as in 2017 it was revealed that one in three children had to ask their parents to stop constantly checking their mobile phones.
The survey found that a third of young people consider their parents to be poor role models who continue to look at phones and tablets even when their children ask them not to.
