‘Oh my God dude – this is crazy man,’ Heartbreaking new footage shows moment Texas man found out he’d become a widower after wife was shot on her driveway while preparing for garage sale in 2019 murder that’s stumped cops

Footage has emerged showing the emotional moment a Texas man learned he was a widower after his wife was gunned down in his driveway.

Elizabeth “Liz” Barraza, 29, was outside her home in Tomball on Jan. 25, 2019, when a black pickup truck pulled up and parked across the street.

Surveillance footage showed the suspect getting out of the truck, quickly walking toward Barraza’s home and, in a rage, shooting her at point-blank range.

A newly surfaced video posted on YouTube shows the moment her husband Sergio Barraza learned of her death.

Harris County patrol car camera footage shows Barraza crying in agony and telling officers, “Oh my God, man. This is madness.’

Barraza then questions the officers, saying, “So they just shot her and left?” in the video that has been verified ABC13.

He also tells the officers: “I was getting out and I just saw this car on camera pull up and turn around.

“Probably right here, and then I don’t hear anything for a second. I heard four shots and a scream and that was it.”

In an interview with the publication, Barraza said: “It tears me apart when I see this. It’s hard to watch me go through this and remember it all.

“It’s very difficult to relive all this again. I hate that we haven’t solved this problem yet.”

Previously released surveillance footage shows a man believed to be in disguise approaching Elizabeth Barraza, shooting at her and running away.

According to ABC13, the shooter wished Barraza “good morning” before killing her with a revolver so as not to leave any traces behind.

The video shows Barraza freezing at the sight of the shooter and taking a step back as they approach her.

Only eight seconds pass before the suspect raises his hand and, in a rage, shoots her at point-blank range, firing three times.

Barraza falls to the ground as the suspect steps over her body and fires another shot.

They are then seen running back to the car and leaving the scene.

Neighbors called 911 after hearing gunshots, and Barraza was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she died from her injuries the next day.

Sergio Barraza left for work just minutes before his wife was killed.

“A coward rode up, walked up to my daughter and changed our lives forever,” Barraza’s father, Bob Nuel, said during a 2019 news conference.

“An unknown person shot and killed an unarmed and defenseless woman, committing a brutal act that demands justice. We could never imagine life without her. We still can’t.

Barraza’s family said she was planning a garage sale to raise extra money for a trip she and Sergio were taking for their fifth wedding anniversary.

Barraza was an avid fan of Star Wars and Harry Potter. Her family asked mourners to bring wands and lightsabers to her February 2019 vigil.

Sergio is now married again and told ABC13 he still loves Liz and hopes he gets arrested soon.

Sergio told the publication: “I hope the police just have something they’re holding onto and they’re ready to grab it in their jaws.”
